This came into the shop Friday and it's getting a sunroof today. '14 CTS V-Sport with the twin-turbo 3.6. It makes a nice sound — almost like the shop manager's 350Z with Borla exhaust. I do, however, think it's a shame that so many manufacturers downplay the turbo sound.
It's also quick — 420 hp and less than 4000 lbs - which is featherweight for a midsize luxury sedan anymore.
Add to that its wide gray alloys and I'd have to say if it WASN'T FUCKING PIMPOMATIC PURPLE, it'd be a nice car to have.

Really? Did they have a reason behind not just exchanging this one for one with a sunroof?

Purple is a great colour.
And if you think this is fast, then the CTS-V should be absolutely bonkers.

you kidding me, pimp purple is great!
but what party-vi said...really, why not just trade it in?

That purple color is awesome. Stop the hate :)
Don't turbochargers act as mufflers? So they do have a tendency to make things quieter on their own.

Uhh that purple is easily the coolest thing about that car (slight exaggeration). Not all of us like 50 shades of grey for the only color choices.

custom color?
edit: Majestic Plum Metalic is a factory color, but it's special order. chances of finding one in that color on the lot is near zero. if you've already got he color you want, but you want a sunroof, I guess I can understand the logic of doing it this way, but I personally would NEVER put in an after-market sunroof.

I see that it came from the same dealer that I got my subie from.
Also, I'm defiantly going to be calling your shop this summer to get leather put in.

Seconded on NEVER EVER EVER put in an aftermarket sunroof.
This was my 1997 Ford Escort in 2011, thanks to a badly-installed aftermarket sunroof.

Fun fact: The main reason most aftermarket sunroofs leak is because the owners don't maintain them. As in, lubricate seals and slides and clean out drain tubes — at least once a year. It's basically just putting an extra window in the roof of your car. I had the same attitude about aftermarket roofs until I learned a bit about them. The company I work for bought out ASC back in 2004 - and it's an OEM supplier for Nissan and Ford.
Our company even gives a free annual service including all that maintenance as part of the warranty. We get about one a month despite the fact that it's in the literature we give customers.
So as long as it's installed properly and it's maintained, it'll work leak-free for years.

Never say never.

Test this out for, at the NY Autoshow I noticed that the rear passenger doors on the CTS V and V Sport rattle and sound very cheap when you shut them. The front doors for some reason have a much more solid thunk. I shut the door like 6 times and everyone agreed it sounded like crap.
Maybe that was a one off?

This is much better than purple.

"Majestic Plum Metallic"
I don't know why, but I find this a hilarious name for a ... anything, really. "Majestic" and "Plum" just don't combine.

That was an ASC sunroof. The installer had the drain tubes dump onto the floorboards and into the rocker panels.
