So, Mrs Aya ask me earlier today that why i never took her out in a Convertible? She would really love it, apparently. And that makes me thinking, if i could choose any convertible to take her out, what car that i should get?
Originally, i'm thinking to take her out in a something small and light Honda S660. It's small, it's not terribly powerful so i could let her drive it, it looks cool, and it's light on the gas too. But i kinda think that if i took her out in a convertible, i kinda wants to drive out of town and see some beautiful places, and i don't think i want to do that in a S660.
Then there's the Boxster Spyder. It's one of my favourite porsche ever. It looks cool, it's very practical, it's fast but not overly so, and i think the Mrs would love it too. But i'm affraid she would hate it when the rain comes.
I guess then, somehow the prefect convertible for me is a Mercedes SL600. It's big, it's comfortable, it's fast, but the luggage space is terrible.
Oh well, i guess you can put a thing or two on that little space. How about you?

My wife likes Miatas and S2Ks, so probably one of those if we're talking just the 2 of us. But then our toddler would have nowhere to go. So then I would want something classy with a larger backseat, like a Pontiac Grand Prix convertible.

I've been trying to talk my girlfriend into a miata for a long time. Best I've been able to work her down to is a e30 convertible, and good luck finding one of those lol.

Isn't Miata always the answer? but on a more serious note, I'd go a little vintage and take her out in a RWD Alfa Romeo Spider. All the benefits of a Miata, a little more useful storage, fast enough for any public road, good ride quality, a roof that keeps the rain out and a heat and defrost system that will blow hot enough to give you first-degree burns. not to mention the lovely sound of that Alfa twin-cam engine! Any series two or three 115 Spider is more powerful and has more comfort than the earlier models, but I'd go with a SPICA-injected 2000 Veloce from the early 80's.

Me too!
I put an NC Miata as my desktop wallpaper once. She saw it, and her response was "That car looks cute. The Citroen Ami is cuter though."
I guess i should told her that miata is convertible than she might like it!

Hey man that's better than my situation, my girlfriend will walk into the room and if there's a miata on the screen she will roll her eyes, groan, and tell it's not going to happen.

Extra weight, wind makes my eyes water even with sunglasses, and it wrecks my hair. When it was long it would turn into a massive knotted clump, and now that it's short it'll look like I just got out of bed and not in a good way.

The one driven by the guy who capitalizes his "I"s.

although the broken exterior passenger door handle might be a big enough deterrent for her not too

I'm not sure they're easy to find anywhere, honestly.

E46 M3 works well for me and my other half. Comfortable to drive for tall people, has space for actual humans and luggage if you want to road trip, and the S54 sounds brilliant with the top down. She's as much a fan of it as I am.

And that's a problem, because me and mrs aya is not really what people consider tall. I'm 170cm, while the Mrs is 155.
Still, E46 M3 is a great choice.Kinda hard to find arround here though, since most M3s here are Coupe/Saloon.

Oh, that's tough.
Now, E30, i know a friend of mine who has an E30 M3 Convertible. It's funny, because where i live is RHD while E30 M3 Convertible is LHD only, so it's interesting to drive.

Oh, the Spider sure looks nice!
I think the mrs would love it, since she's quite like Alfa Romeos. At least she like the 159 and call it "baby Alfa", so that's a start.

I had no idea what is that car..

I've always wanted to spend some more time with one of these:
Or, maybe I'd buy an NC Miata. That generation wasn't the best-received, but it still strikes me as a good car.

Yep. Especially with the Triptonic.
Seriously. I always wonder how good are this car or the Mitsubishi Legnum with Triptonic.

In regards to cruising with your girl, CAKE said it best: "Stick shifts and safety belts, bucket seats have all got to go."
