Not only are the summer tires on, I just signed up for the May 6 SCCA Track Night In America at Thompson Speedway, the first event around these parts. I'm looking forward to seeing what the car can do with no speed limits or cops to enforce them, especially after my first 24 hours on Michelin Pilot Super Sports. The car should've come with these Michelins from the factory, not Primacy HP "Prius tires."

Love PSS. Love track days (and I assume nights). Love gold wheels on WRB.

there's nothing wrong with the Primacy's they are very durable I've found out after speaking with several other owners that like to go a bit sideways and yet still have at least 20k miles on them

Have you done the brake fluid? That's the main thing I've seen on the 86 forums is high temp fluid before a track day.

Color/wheel combo is very nice. I've still got my prius tires

Heh - I just ordered a non-Miata RCR version of that sticker for the occasion!

They're fine if you don't like grip and like squeal, so they're great drift tires. Mine were half used up by the time I swapped to snow tires at less than 10k miles. That's with just street driving and one very unsuccessful autocross on them.

Fluid and track pads are my to-do list before the event. Especially since these tires will allow much more braking power than the stock setup.

I wonder why...

It's been 12 years since my last track day, but I've got something like 10 or so under my belt before that. So this isn't my first rodeo - though my first at this track.

they fit the ethic of the car, a small fun sports car and drifting = fun :D so I think grippier tyres might've ruined that for some

The beauty of the car is that it's a great starting point to turn it into whatever you want - track car, drifter, autocrosser, rally car... And if you're happy with it in stock form, then leave it alone. I have no other major mods in mind - just an axle-back exhaust so I can hear the darn thing.

yeah I know what you mean there about doing things to hear it, I currently put a Berk HFC, slightly noise increase, not enough though
