Are there any six cylinder diesel wagons with a manual transmission left? For sale brand new, that is.

It seems the six cylinder diesel wagon with a manual is dead. Lest we remember the glorious six.

In the US I assume? The Jetta/Golf Wagen TDI is a 4 cylinder so I don't believe such an car exists.

Dosen't look like it. If you get rid of the manual, you have plenty of offerings in diesel L6 wagons from BMW. But no manual available.

I think BMW or audi might still do it in europe. Best chance i think is the A4 wagon.

Depends on how rigid a definition you hold for wagon. Several versions of the 70 series land cruiser still have a diesel i6 and stick

The C and E class Mercedes Estates use a 4 cylinder for their diesel option, with the manual available on certain trims. So no luck there either.

BMW doesn't sell their 6 cylinder diesels with manuals anymore. Because torque. But they would've been the best chance.

You could get one until 2013 or so.

Nope, not anymore. It died a quiet and peaceful death in late 2013/ early 2014 with the BMW 530d and the Audi A4 3.0 TDI.

negatory, the 525d is the largest diesel engine with a manual, this went from 6cyl to 4cyl in 2012.

I have done significant research in the past few minutes.

no diesel wagons with manual. perhaps torque is so much now from modern diesels that manuals are a no go?

If you can get shit like Vipers and Zo6s with a manual transmission, surely you can get a 3.0 Diesel as well.

typically, the torque arrives much later is a gas engine, modern diesels throw out all the torque from low revs and maintain it meaning more stress more of the time. that or the take up rate is miniscule.

But the C7 Z06 also makes stupid amounts of torque from low revs.

I couldn't find a single one. Apparently they've phased out manuals in the higher engine trims.
