best I could get because of traffic. It had a hood scoop with a "302" badge. It sounded like a 302 but I thought old Shelby's had bigger engines. It had a cobra badge on the front fender. That rear spoiler is awful. I love old cars regardless of make. I'm partial to old mustangs especially. This one just looked wrong.

Shelby cars only had 302s in 1968, but that generation of Shelby had Thunderbird/Cougar lights on it

But it is definitely a 1968 with those side marker lights.
Also, I never like that much chrome on the wheels, anthracite/grey Torq Thrusters are always better:

That's why it looks so wrong. The tail lights. Thank you

She was playing with her hair. She kept adjusting it despite the fact that she's in a convertible.

Facepalm. At least it wasn't as awkward as when I took a picture of that K900 or whatever it was and noticed the guy after the fact was staring right at me with a "WTF are you doing" look

Shelby's did not have 302s in '68.

Scraaaatch that, it's a '69 with those jewel-type tail lights; '68s were flatter. That silly ducktail thing was throwing me off :/

You could also get the 428 Police Interceptor motor in the GT500, and 428 Cobra Jet in the 500KR "King of the Road." The convertibles also had a factory rollbar covered with a plastic aero sheath which the pictured car lacks. Those also look like 1969 taillights, not 1968s, as already pointed out they would have been replaced by Thunderbird sequential units in a real Shelby.

Yup, it was bugging me; the tail thing was throwing me off with the tail lights. Yes, you could get those, but Funktheduck was asking about if Shelby cars specifically had 302s ever.
