Nissan shooting brake anyone? It's a Nissan Exa hatchback... Rare sight that looked quite a bit abandonned. I'm sure some of you would love that decrepit thing as a daily driver :)

Yeah, I've got a buddy who worked there for a year and a half after college and he loved it (not a car guy though). I think it would be amazing to experience such a wildly different culture, and of course to be around the sort of cars/culture that fascinated me as a kid (and still do today). I thought about, and still kind of am, doing the JET program to go over there and teach English for a bit. Just seems like an "easy" way to get a job over there. I'd just love the opportunity to move there for a job and experience something completely different.

Well, it's pretty much the only way to get a job there if you don't speak japanese...

Your other possiblities are getting a working-holiday visa, but then again, without speaking japanese, it will tough to find a job, or marrying a Japanese, which I did lol

I made that photoshop years ago. There are very few photos of these things out there. I got that source image from some scanned brochure (below)

Hardly anyone bought the sportback, and all the press photos are of low quality like that one.

Haha Yeah, I kinda figured.

I've got software to learn Japanese, I really need to start using it. Learning Japanese has been a goal of mine for quite awhile. German too, now that I work for a German company. Ideally I will learn both and then get a job with Toyota Motorsport GmbH.

Wouldn't mind marrying a Japanese either. lol

I speak German somehow and Japanese is easier really (though I suck at it, I still realize it's easier :) )

Coming here for a while and actually live and get out of Tokyo is something everyone should do for a few months in his life :)

That's my first car! It was the Nissan Pulsar NX in the states, final generation. I did not have the weird hatch but it did have a nice DOHC engine and t-tops. Great first car.

R34 sucks for 80% of their line up. Gtst and gtr are the only ones worth a look. This one is not worth it.

And yeah it could be one... i have to admit that to me stagea is just another car now... :)

Agreed, but it doesn't suck... it's just not hype worthy.

The significance really is the chassis can accept some badass engines and variations. Most of the Japanese cars the US gets can only fit -one- engine and are very tightly packed in (transverse front wheel/four wheel drive configurations). So to a culture where Chevy would make the same engine for 30 years, with 20 different variations that all bolt in whenever you want, that sort of forbidden fruit is very, very tasty.
