Rennsport, roughly translated, means "race sport." The reunion was the brainchild of the late Bob Carlson, a Porsche Cars North America PR man and universally loved ambassador for the marque. A great deal of Porsche's history is privately owned or hidden away in the factory's vaults. Carlson wanted a reason to exercise it and get the company's legendary drivers and engineers in front of the public. Because everyone loved him and Porsche and because he asked nicely, he got his wish. The first Rennsport took place at Lime Rock in 2001 and was an unqualified success. The next two were held at Daytona International Speedway in 2004 and 2007.

I have no clue, maybe it was a send off to last the last Rennsport?? All I know is that Rennsport 4 was incredible, warm California sun and beautiful cars to look at and see race at Laguna.

It's an old subblog run by another couple of oppo guys. Kinda like the precursor to Black Flag. It's been basically without a post for a while and really is only useful for live blogs of 24 hour events. Mainly Le Mans, but also Bathurst.
