Or the time John Young got investigated by Congress for smuggling a corned beef sandwich into space on Gemini 3.

Just about two hours into the flight of Gemini 3, NASA's first two-man space mission 50 years ago Monday (March 23), pilot John Young reached into his spacesuit's pocket and pulled out a surprise.

That would be a truly impressive feat what with it being encased in solid acrylic. If it were possible to remove the acrylic without damaging the sandwich I wonder how well it would be preserved. In the name of science you must do this.
