Thinking of going to take a serious look at !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
I'm not afraid of above average maintenance, insurance and fuel costs, but I'm not looking for an abusive, Tavarish Range Rover-like relationship either.
Any experienced owners care to chime in with the good and the bad?

Not a Merc expert, but definitely see if you can proof that proper maintenance has been done. People can be really careless with luxury cars.

At minimum, it'll need a transmission fluid and filter change with proper Mercedes ATF. (I believe that year was still the older Red fluid) Gotta keep that 722.9 trans healthy.
Coolant, brake and power steering would be ideal too. Rear diff as well.

1) Carmax warranty that mofo
2) Light the tires
3) Win!

My dad has a 2013 C63. Fantastic car! I can't recommend it enough.
The M156 engine doesn't have any common gremlins, and there are relatively few electronic gizmos to go wrong. Lack of air suspension is a big plus too. If you're sticking with the MB service schedule at the dealership, know that regular services cost about 50-80% more than they would for a non-AMG Benz.
I don't know what your context for ride quality is, but the C63's is very harsh. I'm not sure I'd spend the money on the comprehensive Carmax warranty, but looking into wheel insurance might not be a bad idea.
My final piece of advice is to find one with a LSD if you can. The C63 really has too much power for an open diff, and it'll spin one of the rears at stoplights without you even trying.

Most of the issues with these were sorted by the time this was built. I wouldn't have any major qualms about it. Check service history. Should get trans service every 40k, that's the big one, the other things are not quite as important. The vast majority of C63's are mostly problem free. I still suggest a pre-purchase inspection of course.

I was looking for a c63 for the longest time but didn't find one that was 100% me. At the price i bought my 550i for there was no c63 that could match it. I did my fair share of research and i can say that there shouldn't be any major issues. I had a W204 C300 and absolutely loved it. I contemplated getting a C63 so i asked a friend who is one of the head techs at a Mercedes dealership by me if there are any major issues and he could only tell me minor ones. The worst C63 he's seen needed a new trans but thats because he knew the owner was doing excessive hooning and it was some young kids first car. He also told me that kid was in there every few months for tires. sooooo, good luck!
