This was my personal vehicle in 2005.
1994 Ford Probe SE. 2.0L DOHC 4-cylinder, manual transmission, nice directional 3-spoke alloy wheels. The only rice on the outside is the clear turn signals and fog lights. Let's take a peek inside, though...
Oh dear. Where to even begin...
Blue painted accents everywhere.
eBay white face gauge overlay
blue LED strips for the footwells
cloth-wrapped center stack for some reason
custom gated shifter
That's right, I paid money for a friend who worked at a plastics factory to machine me a shifter gate for my car out of 1" thick nylon.

Money well. fucking. spent.

I'll admit it - I don't hate the gated shifter or the blue footwell lights. The rest.... Eh.....

We all have our past...I made a "cold air" intake for my Celica out of PVC pipe the summer after I finished high school.

lulz. Blue interior.

Damn, what did you do to that poor Probe! lol
I actually don't mind the clear corners. I had a 94 Probe SE myself (in 90'stastic teal), but for some reason mine was optioned without the rear spoiler or wiper.
It was a great car to drive though. And, I STILL don't think the styling looks that dated.

I did a school to work program my senior year that had me working at the local ANG base on F-16s. Two classmates from a nearby school also worked there on C-130s and we would carpool to the base. We decided to meet at a doughnut shop for two reasons:
1. It was a central location for all of us.
2. The girls working there in the afternoon were cute
One day, we noticed a Ford Probe similar to yours parked at said doughnut shop. What was interesting about it was the huge sticker on the rear window that said, "ANAL PROBE". We were more impressed when one of the cute counter girls working there ran out to said Probe and retrieved her purse from it.

So I'd guess it didn't made the distinctive CLAC of a gated shifter... more like a dull TOC.
was there any other modifications to the tranny, or was the internal gate still there?

my lady friend had one of these until about 4 years ago.
hers was a 95 GT with the v6. it was a great looking car, and i was helping her keep it on the road. resealing the valve covers, some minor body work here and there, new calipers...
but at some point, i just had to say enough... as good as it looked and as fun as it was to drive, the car would never be worth more than 1500 or so.
AND... front wheel drive. i couldn't consider letting her keep it as a forever car for that simple reason.
i took the nearly $1000 i was going to have to provide to keep it running (exhaust and transmission work) and put it into a jaguar that technically i own, but she gets to drive whenever she wants (and whenever it wants).

I recently almost purchased a strip of blue LEDs to attach to the underneath of my dash...

I think I just blue myself

Do it. Lighting inside is always needed.

The early to mid 00's were hard on all of us.

I had them wired to a factory switch on the center stack.

I had a '96 Probe GT in that same teal. It was actually a pretty enjoyable ride for the time.

Transmission was stock.
The gate had the added benefit of if I got too enthusiastic driving, it would bang the shifter off the gate and snap all the mounts for it. By the time I sold it, it was epoxied to the center console.

After I've bought the parts to refit my oil filter I might.

I have some blank switches in my car I could do that with.

Honestly, this is one of the least horrible modified Probes I've seen. Most of them got absolutely ruined. Yours looks a little, shall we say "obnoxious", but at least you didn't stack 2 Vato-Zone wings on top of eachother on the hatch. And one million thanks for leaving the huge "WeaponR" stickers off!

My probe is slightly more epic. Behold, the fArt Car.
Started life as a 95SE, we blew up the engine in one of the first races, so we did a manual V6 swap from a GT. Sounded unreal out on the track, it just wailed!!! Unfortunately we blew up the V6 after a few races, so decided to cut our losses and focus on building a miata stage rally car.

I wish I could find a pic of my cousins '93 Probe GT. It had a fartcan, a huge wing, and was painted red w/ white stripes. The paint was done in their garage, without clear coat, so in just over a year it was pink.

I was literally just talking about doing this yesterday. How did you go about getting the dimensions correct?

Masking tape and cardboard.

I've been considering making one out of 1/4" aluminum... this is making me want to do it more.
