Two issues:
1) Sharing feature isnt working, hasnt worked for a while. Doesnt seem to work in Chrome mobile or desktop.
2) In the sharing menu, Oppositelock is spelled "Oppositeluck"
3) When posting this new thread, it says "Oppositeluck"
Something is definitely borked, just raising attention to it.

I'm in desktop Chrome and it's working just fine for me.
![]() 03/24/2015 at 13:25 |

Mine says Oppositeluck also!
![]() 03/24/2015 at 13:26 |

Just checked mine and it says luck as well...hmmm maybe St. Paddy's easter egg?

Bigger issue than a misspelling:
When I click "See All Notifications" at the bottom of the drop down it bumps me to a random Kinja page.

I had that error last night. Some weird tiled page of all the Gawker sites, right?

Talked to Steve about that yesterday, he said it should be fixed now, but you might need to clear your cache.

Same thing happened to me. Annoying as all hell.

I think one of the mods is messing with the tab title and spelled it "Oppositeluck" on purpose. Last night it said "Oppositelick." haha

But why after the fact?
![]() 03/24/2015 at 13:40 |

Maybe it was delayed in updating and it just now did it?
![]() 03/24/2015 at 13:56 |

Update = it's working now! WOOHOO
![]() 03/24/2015 at 13:56 |

working now, so much better. Man if I was past 5 notifies I was lost.
![]() 03/24/2015 at 13:56 |

exactly, working now though thankfully

I think Steve is short on gummy bears.

1. Good, I don't like shared comments.
2 and 3. I fixed that, should no longer say Oppositeluck.

Genius. See, I'm not a huge fan of shared comments, but every once in a while, I feel like sharing a gem with the rest of the world.

"Ahppositelahk"...you sneaky bastard haha

Just tried 3 different browsers, no dice. Cannot share anything anywhere....
Opposite[bleep]ed.

I'm not on the tech side so I'm affraid i can't help you there. I've added a Kinja Help tag to this post; that is the official tag for this sort of thing and should get this post on Gawker Tech's radar.
Just out of curiosity, is it only your own comments you are trying to share or does it do the same for others? If you want to try someone else's comment, may I suggest my first comment here? The irony would be delicious.

Hehe, same here mate. And I think the guys and girls at Kinja Help is starting to get sick of me, I'm reporting a minimum of one error per day :P
![]() 03/24/2015 at 14:38 |
|
sick of you?
They should give you a paycheck and a QA job.

Hehe, I meant it as a joke ;)
![]() 03/24/2015 at 15:01 |

Maybe you should apply for a QA role though....
![]() 03/24/2015 at 15:03 |

Nah, I'm not actually that good with computers, I just spend way too much time with them. ;)
![]() 03/24/2015 at 15:04 |
|
lol QA is just Quality Assurance
All you gotta do is click through stuff and say "HEY YO- THIS SHIT BROKE"
You're good.
![]() 03/24/2015 at 15:08 |
|
Hehe, I know what QA is, but usually it requires a minimum of knowledge though. One thing is to tell someone "yo, this shit is broke man" but that won't help much unless you can tell them "The drop down won't work in Chrome 41.0.2272.101 (64-bit) with Linux Mint 17.1 (Rebecca), it's probably because CSS does this and that" :)
![]() 03/24/2015 at 15:12 |
|
if you stop at Rebecca you're probably fine.
Every programmer I've ever met thinks your "probably because" is garbage whether it's right or not lol.
and if you know what generation of Linux you're running and you are in fact running Linux you're more a of a computer nerd than the last director of QA at my company.
![]() 03/24/2015 at 15:18 |
|
Hehe, I won't deny that I'm way above most people when it comes to computers, but I'm not QA, Test perhaps.. but not QA. That said, I guess the confusions stems from the stigma about being called a tester, so A LOT of companies call their testers QA, even though they hardly know what an analyzing tool does.
Sorry.. bit of a rant there :)

Hahaha fair enough, fair enough.
I'm just starting to dabble in Linux and I don't think it'll last long. I'm running a version of it for my 2 Raspberry Pi's, but they may make the move to Windows 10 when it's available for an easier full home network integration.
![]() 03/24/2015 at 15:49 |

I've been running some sort of Linux as my main OS for 15 years or so now, OS X on my Mac of course. I've just started learning Win 8.
Hot tip about Linux, start with Mint it looks very much like Win 7 so it's not that big of a change.
![]() 03/24/2015 at 16:09 |

Well the Pi is super basic. I'm actually running Raspbian with Kodi (formerly known as XBMC) it's really just a little media box.
![]() 03/24/2015 at 16:10 |
|
I know the Pi is just a tiny little itsy bitsy cute thing :) I meant if you want to learn.
![]() 03/24/2015 at 16:21 |

Haha, i figured.
Yeah I'm good. I've got my whole house hardwired, simply so I can pass media through out the whole house.
Pile of Pi's:
(I don't actually use that wi-fi USB, just didn't want to lose it at the time lol) Clear one is in the home gym now, because real nerds work out to streaming content from the Raspberry Pi. Black one is in the living room.
![]() 03/24/2015 at 16:26 |

Nice :) I use an iPad to control everything in my apartment.. and said apartment is about 400 square feet (Nerd? Me? naaah..)
![]() 03/24/2015 at 16:37 |

lol, I use my android phone (LG G3) to control the Pi's. I also have a little wireless keyboard/touchpad. just makes it easier for big settings changes and initial set up, also for searching youtube or whatever.
Only control in the gym is android phones though. Awesome free app! Even has a touch pad in it for mouse control.
These things are all kinds of awesome for $35 bucks
