!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! Just HAD to make a post about the glorious Renault Safrane.. resparking my love for the Vel Satis..

It's weird looking, perhaps even ugly, I highly doubt it's a great car.. it's FF so not exciting in any way, but I want one. I'll take one in red with a 3.0 V6 Diesel please.

I like its originality. That's about it. I prefer the Safrane, although I can't see myself owning any of those cars. A Citroën C6 on the other hand, I can totally see myself buying one of those in a few years. I'm even willing to break my no-automatics rule for one.

I'd rather have a Safrane over a Vel Satis myself, but they at least SOLD the Vel Satis here..

The C6 however wins, hands down, it's a gorgeous car that handles great and is very nice to drive.

Amazingly insane I'd say. The boys in France haven't really made anything really strange since the SM though, it's sad.. but people won't buy cool/strange stuff it seems.

They did such great stuff in the 90s. Really developed their own language. Sad that that rarely translated to production cars (the original Twingo and Avantime notwithstanding).

There is an Avantime for sale for 2700 euros about 5 minutes from my house. It is the 3.0 V6 manual, wich was the biggest and best engine combo IIRC.

Avantime was a product of the same era. But, no, that's the Vel Satis concept. '98 or '99.

It probably isn't though.. It is at a known shady dealership that sells a lot 'too good to be true' cars at cheap prices.
