Kinja'd!!!

Once again here is another car for sale on the wonderful site called Pennswoods. For those of you who don't know (Probaby everyone), Pennswoods is an online classifieds website for Pennsylvanians, and always seems to have something interesting. Today we have a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , which, accordin to the owner, has an LS1 corvette engine. Now I'm fairly certain that he actually was referring to the LT1, but that's not the best part. The best part, is he wants $650 for this car! One that currently still has a PA State Inspection, which means it's probably still in fairly decent shape. It apparently needs exhaust work, but I'm just wondering, why on earth would tthey only want $650 for this? Thoughts on the car anybody? Anybody think I should do a daily bit on the cars of Pennsylvania (Pennswoods)?

He definitely means LT1 and you should go look at this immediately. If the engine and trans are healthy it's a steal. What a great beater that would make.

That's what I thought! If it's even in half way decent shape it would be a steal for $650!

July 1997 - needed a rental car to go take the MD bar exam. Reserved a Taurus at Enterprise, as I always had done. I get there, and they have no Taurii left. They won't let me have a Jaguar, so I wind up with a Cadillac - even the same color as this one. I felt like Morrie Seinfeld. It handled like a Bertram Sport Fisherman.

Given the average age of your Cadillac owner, somebody has probably died in that car. That's why it's so cheap.

You could be rear ended in that and not notice.

Those are just minor details, just as long as it's not haunted. (Note: Do not paint red, do not name Christine)

And rear end someone, and be t-boned, from both sides, all at the same time. and still not notice.

Yeah, but wouldn't it be nice to have a car that can repair itself?

Yeah, excuse me while I go run a garden hose from my exhaust through the back window...

Before my Grandma got her license taken and got placed in a lovely care facility (it really is nice) she rammed a synagogue (in a dementia based stupor) with one of these. The car won.

To be fair though- Just because it has a PA inspection doesn't mean it's in decent shape all the time. Stickers are cheap and there's a lot of people that shouldn't be in the business of selling them

Yeah I had realized that they could have just take it to their buddy and gotten a sticker, but considering that they say the exhaust needs fixed to pass inspection I'd be inclined to think someone actually inspected it.

That's true. They're actually trying to keep it legal.

at least more than some. There used to be a truck around here that had a piece of an old Mobil oil can duct taped on to the cab corner as a "repair."

Must have been inspected over a phone call. That kind of stuff gives us legit guys a bad name and I hate it

I can understand letting the occasional little thing that's actually going to get fixed slide, but some of these guys really let it go out of hand. Around here they started cracking down though, PennDOT came in and started inspecting shops.

As they should. The laws are there for a reason. I wouldn't even put a sticker on my own vehicle with my name on it unless it was a legal pass.

Well it's good to know that there are some mechanics out there that do it the way it should be and not just for the money, these days it seems like they're getting harder and harder to find. There's maybe one or two around here.

Being a tech at a Ford dealer helps, but everywhere I've worked has been legit. So that's the only way I know. I mean I don't think I'm a prick about little things, but if it's something that's blatant then I don't like to let it slide under my watch
