Let's say some really rich !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! enthusiast offered you X dollars to drive a 2008 !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! that would last forever and couldn't be modified in any way for the rest of your life instead of your cl63 AMG (which all of you presumably own)
What would the value of X need to be in order for you to accept his offer?

If I owned a CL63 AMG? Hmm.. a million quid.
Edit: per YEAR that is.

If it lasts forever, I'd do it for free.

No shit.

However much it takes to take up planes and/or trains as my new enthusiast-centric transportation.

Swap Prius with the 2016 Chevy Volt, and they wouldn't have to pay me much.
Prius can suck a dick.

mm....well, it would a decent motorcycke parts runner..
5 billion.
![]() 03/19/2015 at 14:41 |

$1.5M. Take money, buy P1, drive Prius to work...
Pending I'm not contractually bound to drive only the Prius. At which point, I don't recognize this court's authority...case dismissed.

Even if that's the ONLY thing you can drive ever again? That's what I thought this was about, if I could keep another car as a toy I'd do it for free too.
![]() 03/19/2015 at 14:41 |

Is it the only car i can drive?
![]() 03/19/2015 at 14:42 |

can you have side cars, like something fun to wrench on and play with at least once a week?
if yes; $8,000,000.27
in no; $35,825,763,894.13
![]() 03/19/2015 at 14:49 |

50 billion every 15 years.

Enough so I can have my own driver, a massive house, and no reason to ever leave the house unless in extreme need.
![]() 03/19/2015 at 14:53 |

It only says I have to drive it instead of my CL63 AMG, meaning that I am only required to drive it those times that I would have driven my CL63 AMG throughout the rest of my life. Meaning that I am still allowed to drive all my other amazing super and collector cars when I please. So I will go ahead and say $500,000, just enough to buy that LFA I've been wanting to add to my garage.
I love loopholes. This rich Prius enthusiast really needs to create a more sound contract. Also, I really enjoy these moments when my poli sci degree actually proves to have been somewhat useful.

A Prius with poorer build quality, that's logic right there if I've ever seen it.
![]() 03/19/2015 at 14:57 |
|
You mean a Prius with a longer electric range, more power, better looks, better interior, more advanced transmission, and more efficient engine, right?
Or are you just being an obstinate jackass?
![]() 03/19/2015 at 14:58 |

But it lasts forever. So build quality wouldn't mean anything. In my opinion, the Volt looks a hell of a lot better than a Prius.
![]() 03/19/2015 at 15:05 |

I would absolutely do it for free. There's nothing wrong with the Prius... it is what it is.
![]() 03/19/2015 at 15:07 |

Yeah, but it's made by the company that forgot to sell a car with brakes...
![]() 03/19/2015 at 15:08 |
|
Does it come with the Sonic's optional Invisible Brakes?
![]() 03/19/2015 at 15:15 |

Ditto, with this caveat: if a more efficient car came along (Prius v/3, 263mpg TDI hybrid, a la XL-1?) I want that.
I'm an efficiency nut.

Ooh man. It'd have to be very high, since I'll still be driving in 50+ years. It'd get tiresome explaining to everyone why I'm still driving such an archaic vehicle. Probably ~$500,000 per year.
![]() 03/19/2015 at 15:18 |
|
Enough for me to retire right now and hire a private driver so I will never have to drive again.
![]() 03/19/2015 at 15:19 |
|
Hmm, well seeing as I'm the type of person who doesn't buy cars they can't afford to maintain can therefore assume that I make enough money to afford a CL63 AMG.
With that established, the Prius enthusiast can go eat a bag of dicks.
![]() 03/19/2015 at 15:32 |

$500k, provided the enthusiast pays for maintenance and repairs on the Prius in perpetuity.
![]() 03/19/2015 at 15:49 |

I don't know, does the Prius come with unintended acceleration?
Can I use one recall for one vehicle as a disparaging claim against every other vehicle the brand has ever made?
![]() 03/19/2015 at 16:04 |
|
About $12 million every day. Yup, I'd rather not have a car than have to drive a Prius.
![]() 03/19/2015 at 16:11 |

It comes with unintended acceleration if you go to Walmart and buy one of those fuzzy, thick floormats that block the accelerator. The difference there is between consumer incompetence and manufacturer incompetence. And as the Camry couple and the Recallocalypse proved, both are strong.
![]() 03/19/2015 at 17:26 |

Can I mod it?
![]() 03/20/2015 at 07:27 |

not enough money in the world.
![]() 03/20/2015 at 15:43 |

Consumer incompetence.
Read: Prius driver.
![]() 03/20/2015 at 15:52 |

That is where I was getting at. At least those are pretty proven, with examples with over 300k miles still kicking along.
![]() 03/20/2015 at 15:54 |
|
It must take a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time for a Prius to hit 300k, at the rate they normally move.
But point taken. :)
![]() 03/20/2015 at 15:58 |

Since ironically I see most of them on the interstate doing 15 over, it'd be pretty easy to get a Florida Prius to those miles.
