Belgium is famous for never having had any famous people. Except Hercule Poirot, and he never existed.
Belgium is also widely believed to have two official languages, and is less widely known to have three.
Belgium is famous for:
Chips
Waffles
Stella
It's not so famous for having a motor industry. The only significant indigenous maker now is Van Hool (Fon Hole, roughly) who make buses.
When in America I was somewhat surprised to find that they're common there as well. Not quite the same ones as back home obviously. The Americans get engines from unusual (to me ) suppliers like Cummins and Caterpillar and gearboxes from Allison rather than the more familiar ZF.
They also get bigger, stronger seats because fatter. Yes, really.

Well... there's also chocolate.

Hey now.. Belgium is famous for Carbonade flamande, Lambic and Gentse Feesten.
Edit: AND for being the rudest world in the Universe.

Certainly, but not an exhaustive list. Beer brewed by Trappist monks also.

They're famous?
Not as famous as Stella.

Stella Artois is shit doe, it's like Belgian budweiser.
Some people think it's some kind of fancy stuff, same with the Knronebourg, Sapporo and fucking Heineken.
All low end stuff.
Besides, Belgium is mostly known for its chocolate and that peeing statue.

How you write this article without knowing who the "Muscles from Brussels" is?

don't forget that in Belgium this is the accepted way to eat chips/fries:
P.S. I am by *NO MEANS* saying this is bad, quite the contrary as a mater of fact...

Depends on who you ask I guess.. I'd call Stella infamous :P Jokes aside though, in the world of beer the Lambics are quite famous indeed, known for it's dry, vinous/cidery flavour.

Here's the other:

I don't know if it's just me but it REALLY seems like Stella was better before the AB/Inbev merger.
It used to be my go-to "macro" beer for a while and then six months later I didn't care for it at all.

Also fine, just fine.
Fine.
Good.
yes...
Damnit, now I'm hungry.

Insufficiently famous. He just sells trucks.

Stella is a good draft beer, in bottles it's sweet and skunked.
I don't think it was better, we are just constantly exposed to better products.

I strongly oppose this post for perpetuating the lies. We all know that Belgium is actually a brain washing station underneath Euro Disneyland.

It should be famous for these absurdly tasty beers. Holy crap they're good.

I've been drinking Lindemans lambic a lot lately. (nice alliteration)

Never had a Lindemans if I'm honest, I think..

I've had the raspberry and peach. Looks like I need to find the other flavours.

Raspberry and peach sounds rather nice actually, I'd stay away from the Kriek (cherry) though.. but that might just be me, I HATE cherry flavoured stuff, it tastes like rotten marzipan.

HAHA!
My wife's grandfather used to make something called cherry bounce. Basically you take a bunch of cherries, a bunch of sugar and a bunch of whiskey. You let them all sit together for a few weeks/month then strain off the cherries. Then pour small amounts, sip, and enjoy.
I think I would really like the cherry. I'd like to try them all.

I'd say it's the second worst :P The only thing worse is a & w rootbeer.

correction , Belgium has one "famous" person
the little boy who was the inspiration for the mannekin pis statue.
