I can't believe this thing was still in service until recently. If you ask me, that's awesome. $2,500 also. Which is a great price. Finding a completely unmolested, undonked, un crappy wanna-be- Nascar box Caprice isn't easy. Especially a Police package with the 5.7l V8. I've only seen one recently in good condition.

Fire departments tend to really pamper their vehicles, certainly much more so than police, and they typically store them indoors too. If any Caprice of that era was going to survive in such good shape, it would be either a fire service car, or from a very elderly person with a climate controlled garage that mostly gave up driving while Clinton was in office.

I would hunt you down and end you.

Wtf is undonked? If you mean a car with ridiculous sized rims, that's not a donk
![]() 03/12/2015 at 19:04 |

A car that hasn't been donked. Like the one pictured.
![]() 03/12/2015 at 19:04 |

Yup, the ad says it was kept inside and didn't succumb to major rust and rot.

So does I.

I'm sorry, man, but that's no longer the case.
I know some dipshits, somewhere originally intended Donk to mean either a Caprice or Impala - but popular opinion has changed that.
One Google Image search will prove that.

You and I know public opinion doesn't make it fact, but I do see what you mean

Yeah but with slang, that's pretty much the way it is.
This is what the same word meant in high school:

Ok, that's the main thing those things are good for. Fit a snorkel and you're good to go through anything.

I've always wanted one of these as a project car. Big V8 under the hood, blacked out. A sick sleeper.

I've always wanted some funky old former service car. They're hard to come by though, love the old stuff. Makes me smile knowing that there's still a few driving around.

WANT.

I am very tempted, but have no space to put it.

It doesn't come with the red flashing lights, CP.
jk

Haha, you could probably disconnect them and leave it like that.
![]() 03/12/2015 at 20:29 |

They say at the end of the ad that they are removed for civilian buyer :( ,killjoys
![]() 03/12/2015 at 20:37 |
|
Aw damn. Maybe a fire department would scoop it up?
I think that in general, it would be awesome to have "heritage units" which would be older cars restored by Police officers to be used alongside their regular patrol cars so they wouldn't have to be daily driven.
![]() 03/12/2015 at 20:40 |

Here's a couple of Caprice by Holden. White one was built until 1984/85 and the solver one was released in 1988
![]() 03/12/2015 at 21:02 |
|
Yeah I read the ad in the hope that they would mention the lights come with the car, got sad when I read they will be removed:(
The heritage units would be cool. It's a nice car though.
![]() 03/12/2015 at 21:03 |

Same, they add a lot of character and originality to the car. There's always a lot of convincing that can be done in person to keep them on the car possibly.
![]() 03/12/2015 at 21:09 |
|
Be good if say the vehicle is more than one or two model generations old that it would be ok to have the lights. At that age it's obvious that it's not in service any longer. Maybe the authorities could issue special plates/tags.

There's also those black bag things that can go over the lightbar that says "out of service" on it. You could also just change the color of the lenses to clear or something along those lines. I'm pretty sure if the lights are clearly disconnected, then you wouldn't get no trouble.
