The conversion was flawless. If you did not know they didn't come from the factory like this you would never be able to tell it was a conversion.

Melikes the Brute better.

Wouldn't mind it with a removable fiberglass roof, and just a little more length for more cargo space in the bed, and maybe being able to stow the spare tire along the outside of the bed side, between the rear fender and the door... leaving the tailgate unencumbered... maybe even with a second attachment point on the other side, for two spares as an option.
Make it turbo-diesel, with a 4WD-full time-diff/locked/low-range/2WD-Hi multi-mode transfer case... and it is good to go.

There is one here in Lethbridge too! Orange and black like the one above.

That's what I posted, is it not?

That's a really, really good photoshop. The JK Brute is only offered as a 4 door. I'm active on AEV's forum, and we're trying to persuade them to make a 2 door.

Well that sucks. I guess they needed the extended wheelbase to make it work and the 2-door isn't long enough.

pretty demanding list you got there. The odds of them making exactly what you want are about a billion to one.
I'm with you on the spare tire placement tho because the tailgate is a pretty bad spot for it.

They are already considering Turbo-Diesel power, and Grand Cherokee has had QuadraTrak multi-mode 4WD for a long time, that has a 4WD-full time option, in addition to 4Hi (locked, so no dry pavement use), 4Lo, 2WD Hi, and disengaged neutral.
I really would want the full-time AWD mode in variable road conditions... but none of the Jeep community would want to lose their locked-transfer-case modes for off-road... and it is already in Jeep's parts bin.
A removable hard top is hardly too difficult for a Wrangler platform... and it would be nice to have both options. Taking the top off, and putting half-doors, or even no doors on would be nice in warmer, dryer weather... (and water-resistant interior/drained rubber floor/neoprene seats would be even better, not having to cover it from the rain, or being able to hose it out to clean it.)
If the top were modular, I could easily see just the cab roof with an open bed, or a full length roof being interchangeable, like an old Bronco or K5 blazer, in addition to completely open in the summer.
If Wrangler has an ultimate saving grace, it is modularity, and re-configurability for whatever the owner might want.

I am now (again)! Just left Toronto and came back to my home town for a while. My dad is the guy with the dark blue Factory 5 Cobra kit car that's always at the car shows and terrorizing this sleepy little city.

I can't say I've seen the factory 5 around town yet.
What do you drive?

I'm shocked! It's been around for about 10 years now but it'll be back on the roads in time for the big canada day show in town when he gets back from Saudi.
At the moment I'm relegated to a black 2012 fusion sport. While it drives pretty well and it's a lot faster than my tbird I do miss having something unique and interesting.

If you ever see a black 2013 Ford Fusion with this in the back window then thats me. Don't be shy to come say hi.

I always look forward to the Canada Day show. I might put my lincoln in there this year.
I've probably seen the cobra but just not recall seeing it.
I've seen a porsche 996 Turbo that is alway out and about as well as the black Reg Cab SRT10 Ram oh and a Lada Niva hehehe

They are fantastic, but very expensive. Price is the only real barrier, otherwise I have no doubt we would see the things literally everywhere.

The Lincoln is good from far but far from good.

I know. isn't it like 10K just in parts to convert it? plus labour plus paint. I can see this costing about 20K more that the jeep it started out as by the time it's done.

I think that's about right, last time I checked. My dad's been in the market for a small truck for awhile now, and I looked to see if a JK8 could even be a viable option (he loves Wranglers), but, nope, not at $43,000+ all in.

There is a black one in my town. The owner is part of the group of retired guys that meet at Mcdonalds every Saturday morning. They all have some cool trucks. One has a 53 International Harvester pick up look like this one but a few shades of flat green
