I had a perfect (to exact spec) replica of that car overtaking me on the track.
I was in a BMW e46 M3 and he was right behind in the curves. Just before the main straight, I dropped to 2nd gear and floored it.
The M3 started to pull hard and the speed kept climbing and climbing. I was giggling like a school girl when I hear the most insane roar just on my right: The sound was extraordinary, as if god was gargling land-mines, my whole car was shaking.
My jaw was on the ground next to my foot still hard pressed on the gas pedal.
The Boss left me in the dust: it disappeared like lightning and I never caught it again...
Just thinking about it gives me the chills.

Early Trans Am race cars are the best race cars! So much style, so much coolness.
(I know Moffat's Mustang never raced in Trans Am but it was still one of the seven Mustangs converted to Trans Am spec by Kar Kraft in the fall of '68)
