I heard that they're going to be making the six speed by combining two obsolete Ford 3 speeds.

That is made less funny since they are ditching the Ford based V12's and V8's for AMG engines.

Yep, Porsche's 7MT is based on the PDK, which is why it even has 7 forward gears.
