Maybe some of you have seen this before, but I certainly haven't (on anything that isn't a Cadillac). I was lost for words, and I HAD to take this pic (on a nearly empty freeway, calm down). I actually yelled out "WAT" when I saw it.
The couple who were luxuriating in this Impala (lol) were approximately 502 years old. Each. There's a badge on the back that says Commonwealth and they were from out of state (this is in California).
Terrible.

One of my neighbors has a late 90s Cutlass with one of those. Its like wtf, you bought a compact.
The worst one I saw thought was a a Cadillac STS in that weird green, with the same color top. I wish I had a picture it was so bad.

This was available from the factory on those Cadillacs though, right? I had always assumed that, and never really thought much of it, ugly as it is.

It was, but who outside of the 1970s buys a green Cadillac with a green landau top?
Any other color combo would have been meh, but this was just so much. worse.

Friends always ask why I park so far out in the sticks when I go to the grocery store or the mall. My response is to always point to a camry or sebring or impala with this landeau top and say "Because I don't ever want to catch a case of the beige"

It's an evolution!

If you drive into Flint, Michigan, you will see these on Impalas, Malibus, every kind of Buick, Chrysler 300s, even Avalons and Camrys. Ridiculous haha

Jesus. Maybe these people were from somewhere where this is popular, because it sure as hell isn't in southern California.

I like it. It's like warning coloration on poison dart frogs. You know whoever is driving that is old as fuck and probably shouldn't be on the road anymore.

Either that, or they're someone who I will most definitely not get along with.

the b body brougham and d body fleetwood were the only Cadillacs after the 70s to have em factory. All the rest are dealer installed.

there's a dealership near me that puts these on sonatas.

I see these all the time here in the geriatric state of Florida. Take solace in the fact that this kind of "styling" choice will die with the greatest generation.

Does that mean I have to wait another 40 years for donks and lowriders to die too? Goddammit.

Old people rice. Or in other words old people can have terrible taste and be massive morons as well.

I just pity the used car dealers that get stuck with these when their owners die or get their keys taken by their children. Those tops must knock at least a couple grand off the value, and they're not really cheap or easy to remove properly.

LeMons or rallycross car. This is the only way to properly dispose of such a car.

Never seen them on anything other than Cadillacs? My god, junior, what year were you born?
