And you won't believe how much it cost!
I fitted a new alternator, a new starter/solenoid, replaced the associated wiring, popped in a new handbrake cable and switch, and topped up the diffs. Now I have a car that starts on first crank, charges it's own battery, is able to hold it's own weight on a hill, and has a real working handbrake light. £204 total spend.
Sorry for the clickbait.

Yup, from 65A to 100A. I put a 120A battery in a few months back because I thought my old one was shot, and as it turns out it was almost everything but the battery..! I'll be sticking some aux/reverse lights at the rear and on a trailer in the next few weeks, so the extra juice will come in handy.

It's been a few hours. Does it all still work? Is the smoke still contained within your wires?

Nice. I remember when I swapped my broken coil for a new coil. Car has that new car feel again, at 197,700 kms. hahahaa.

I'll have you know that I've split the cables and wired them into my heater system. Depending on the severity, colour, and taste of the smoke exhausted, I have a sensory communication of exactly which component in my engine bay has gone wrong, and perhaps more crucially, which bit is on fire.

It's amazing how it feels so different. Psychosomatic, I'm sure!

When I replaced the broken suspension with a non broken suspension it made a big difference too!

Just be sure to keep an extra jar or two of these around and it will be fine.

Funny that. Remarkable things, car components; you don't know what you're missing until you fix them.

"
I completely changed my Land Rover with this one simple trick."
"I fitted a new alternator, a new starter/solenoid, replaced......"
Not what I was expecting. Figured it got traded for a yeep or something.

Admittedly it was a poor attempt at humour, but I did apologise for it. It was a play for those clickbait articles that actually have numb content.

I thought that was going somewhere along those lines.
