This Stagea is "kind of" based on the Skyline... It's actually pretty much as bad a wagon can get :)

Just like a Skyline can also be bought with a 90hp engine...

the 260RS on the other hand...

theyre not the worst wagon by far.. But where they shine is all the aftermarket support they get via the skylines.

I'm about 50:50 on selling my MR2 for one as I need more carrying space for work. And rb25det models are pretty cheap in Aus

A base (well, I like to think it's some kind of category under base lol) model Stagea is pretty much as bad a wagon can get... What could be worse? A Peugeot 207 SW maybe? Of course RS260 are the ones people refer to when they talk about "Stagea" but after actually having driven a less-than-base Stagea... Oh my, it's crap!

I doubt you have those in Aus as I doubt anyone would actually bother importing them.

I know I did exagerate as the base engine is not as bad as the base Skyline engine, but it's still quite bad. As bad as a 150hp that weights over 1.6 tons can be...

nobody is interested in a base stagea though. Anyone who would want one in the US or Canada would want a RB25DET one at a minimum

I want one of these in Autech 260RS form when they become legal. If I were to buy a RWD car however from this era it would have to be R33 or R34 or a 2G S14 or S15 silvia.

The minimum being at the same time the maximum produced for the Stagea :)

(EDIT, woups, thought you wrote RB26DET :) )

Stageas 260rs are cheap as fuck here... Not very interested in them but still, very cheap.

Cheapest manual 260RS is around 6000$ all the way up to 30000$ for the nicest one for sale.

Yeah I can't say Ive seen one. Ive driven a few of the rb20e skylines, but they have the "cool" factor of being a skyline that P platers can drive. Woefully slow.

I can afford a 260RS but I'd prefer an rb25det stagea for the reliability, and, a less desirable factor so I can park it on the street without worrying it'll get stolen by the first cunt with a flatbed. Heaps of cheap rb25 parts left over from the drift scene too.

Really? I want one even more now. Are they very common?

I wouldn't say they are common, but they are fairly easy to find yes

All the 260RS with manual gearbox for sale right now on Goo (pretty much for sale in Japan in general), ordered from cheapest one to most expensive one.
