I have a strange love for boxy delivery vehicles...so I got really excited to hear that the USPS is looking to rid itself of 140,000 Grumman LLVs!
We all know the USPS uses the mighty LLV, but I'm becoming aware of some other creations they have on the road.
One post office in my area has a fleet of what appear to be called FFVs (Flex Fuel Vehicle), but I can't find any real information about them (like what platform they run on, how long they've been around, etc).
In the area around my workplace, they use Chevy Uplanders as vehicles.
Unfortunately, it seems Google has better things to worry about...
So Oppo, what vehicles does the USPS use that aren't the LLV? :)

We have semi trucks pick up mail from our site. But I can't tell you what models they are because they're not actually USPS vehicles. The USPS contracts out with third parties here.

Probably because they look best in LEGOs.

They've also used the Jeep DJ, and at least in this area a whole lot of Bronco IIs. Pretty much none of the former and few of the latter still in use. I've also seen more than one Scooby in mail service, but I don't know if they were just contractors.

Rural mailcarriers use what ever they have available. I've seen RHD Subaru Outback's used for example.

The FFVs are based on the Explorer platform. That's the one you want.

I hate to be that one guy, but I'm returning to Oppo after a looong absence and forgot my old burner login... Could I get editing rights? Or know who to talk to?

Ooooh, someone uses conventional (from my viewpoint) trucks in America!

As mentioned, that one is based on the Ford Explorer, they're built by Utilimaster.
Design seems like a cross between Grumman's LLV and Utilimaster's own Aeromate.
As for other vehicles, there's the Ford/Freightliner/Sterling Cargo...
The Navistar eStar (apparently discontinued)...
Ford Windstars...
Fuel Cell powered Equinox...
...and HydroGen3s...
International DuraStars...
...and at least one Utilimaster/Isuzu Reach.

They have a good bit of Dodge Caravan's around here, but I don't think they will be getting rid of those anytime soon.

You're now followed for Oppo! This will get you out of the Gray. In order to become an author (i.e. Be able to write posts to Oppo), you'll need to find a moderator. The only one I know of is Gamecat, but there are many of them here.

Oh yeah, there's quite a few Utilimaster/Isuzus around here but the're mostly FedEx...

The only one I've ever seen in person was a FedEx one, so that makes sense.
