Central Florida is a pretty terrible place in the world to have an 8 gallon tank. It turns out that there aren't any gas stations on I4 between Orlando and Lakeland. Oops.

Wow do those things really only have an 8 gallon tank?

Oh yeah, it's tiny. It lives in what would normally be the transmission tunnel. It probably wouldn't matter as much if the car were on normal tires, still had emissions controls, and didn't have the timing advanced, but racecar.

Only 8? Mine is 10

Yep, 8.5. How'd you manage to get that much into yours? I've never tried overfilling mine (had bad experiences with other cars due to overfilling), but it looks like the pipe leading to the tank is pretty huge and should be able to hold at least another gallon or so.

I think that a frunk mounted fuel-cell may be in order. Because daily driver.

It's actually ten-point-something.

It's 10 and some change.

Yeah I googled it after I commented— 10.8.

Sounds like I've got to trace some air return hoses and the charcoal canister. Thanks!

Lol, maybe. The battery's already in the frunk, and what's left is turning into a vent for the radiator. It gets driven plenty, but it's not my daily. I want to stick with the stock mounting point for as long as I can because it's in the right place and there's no way to fit a fuel cell in the stock spot.

I just looked in the owners manual which states like 10.1 but my fuel gauge is wacky so I usually end up refilling with between 2 and 3 gallons left in the tank

Yeah, I'm guessing that some of the air return lines or the charcoal canister in mine are clogged. My fuel gauge is pretty messed up too it seems, because it shows as full. I hope that it isn't just 25 years of sediment filling the bottom of the tank with 1.5 gallons of gunk. I might drain it next time it's low to see what's up.
