I'm thinking of getting gloss black vinyl on the roof of my R for some time now. I think it looks pretty classy. What you do guys think?

I say Matte cause usually Gloss roof's indicate a glass roof.

I think Matte may look a little tacky. It reminds me way too much of plastidip which is currently driving me insane seeing what people are doing with that stuff.

I say go for it, it looks awesome glossy, especially if you have tint on the rear it allows it to flow very nicely. Does your car already have black rails up top?

Matte imo only looks good if you go with matte carbon fiber 3M, I've seen it done on some cars that don't have a cf roof as an option and it looks great. Not for me personally.

Yeah the rails are already black - I also have full tint on the car (including sunroof and windshield).
I don't even know why I asked - I'm pretty dead-set on doing it lol.

Team windshield tint, I've got 50% all around, factory tint on sunroof was already 5% so I didn't bother adding any more. What do you have?
Good thing on the rails, some cars including that Lexus up top have body colored rails and I don't think black vinyl looks that smooth on it, case in point this Kia with panoramic roof but the white rails looks stupid as hell:

I dig it. I wouldn't on my cars, but that's just because the E90 is already black and my S14 would just look goofy with a black roof IMO.

I've got 35% all around, and 50% on the windshield, and the sunroof got 5% put on.
Tinting the windshield was probably one of my better calls.

I went 50% because in the city the cops go a little harder when it comes to 35%, my neighbor already has gotten 3 fix it tickets for his 35% but I have yet to be questioned about it. Windshield was the best investment as I really believe it keeps a lot of glare and heat out.

When I see gloss black roofs I assume it's either a panoramic sunroof, or carbon fiber (like a BMW M car). So...ehhh nahh.

I like it on the Boss 302. However, i like the white roof on my Boss better.
