Coming home with the family, I am behind an avalanche at a light and it goes green but no moving, I don't feel like honking so I just move around to the empty left lane and pass a woman on her phone having a nice conversation about something not related to driving. Less than 200 yards later an allroad attempts to turn left from the median (coming the other way) into a my lane about 75 feet in front of me and I'm doing 35 (speed limit 35). Full abs panic stop and a swerve into the right lane (that was thankfully empty because the avalanche had just now started moving) and I missed her by about 1.5 feet. Would have hit her had I not swerved and nearly did even swerving. She and We would have have a much less pleasant evening had I been driving the cruiser instead of the VW...the margins were that close. dammit people, pay attention on the road!

got some snow today and the roads were all terrible.. So naturally an FJ cruiser literally decides to drive less than 2 feet behind me, immediately blazing by in the left lane the moment he gets the chance to pass the plow next to me. I'd like to think that he stuck somewhere and had to get pulled out by a jeep haha.

I hate to be that guy, but you're mad at a woman in an Allroad for... turning where she has the right to? I could understand if she was doing something stupid, but she really wasn't. It isn't really her job to make sure that you stop when she turns. Glad you're alright, though. Rear-enders are never fun.

The person on the cellphone, however, is an idiot. I've almost rear-ended people because the light goes green and they don't go.

no... you misunderstand. The avalanche incident was at an intersection, the all road incident was on a 4 lane road with a turn median and she turned in front of us from the turn median. there was zero reason for her to do what she did other than she wasn't paying attention and didn't see the oncoming traffic

That feeling of knowing that if you hadn't have been paying attention for a split second, you would have ended some dumbass's life kind of gets to you for a bit. Right after I moved down here, some moron passed me on the right through some construction cones on his motorcycle. As soon as he got past, he swerved in front of me. If I hadn't have immediately locked my brakes, he'd be dead. The dumb fuck got in front of me, only to put on his brakes to turn. It was close enough that I could only see the top of his helmet as he turned.

Well of course, but right now I have no kids, so it wasn't really my first thought. Plus my incident was 4k pound SUV vs. motorcycle, so even if, my passengers would have been fine.
