Subaru had a "Viziv2" concept. I didn't know there was a Viziv#1 concept. Anyhoo... looks like a decent looking design exercise. I suppose some styling cues will make it into the next Tribeca or Forester.

These guys are part of the National Post media group...

And we have the good ol' Toronto Star... who put together the auto show program guide this year... and it totally sucks ass. I emailed the powers that be that run the autoshow and asked them that for next year, give the job to anyone *except* The Star. They totally did a half assed job. No pricing info, incomplete or blatantly wrong tech info... it's the worst guide I've seen at the show in years.

They had this rest area:

Kinja'd!!!

And upon coming up, I discovered The Toronto Star booth professionals...

And then took some general shots as I was done with the North Hall...

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

And a $2 hotdog for lunch...

Kinja'd!!!

They even had sauerkraut... Mmmm Mmmm gooood...

Kinja'd!!!

In the 1970s, this roundhouse was still in use for trains needing service, much of this land was covered in tracks and was heavily polluted.

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

And this gives you an idea of how busy it was...

So I've seen your photos, I've seen pics on CBC, and some albums popped up on my Facebook feed. Nothing really exciting. I can no longer justify spending the time and money to go to this thing. Am I mistaken?

Ford GT, NSX, Project 7, LaFerrari, Huayra - literally everything from this year's Detroit. Plus all the new models like the AMG GT, 4C Spider, ND Miata...

As a car person, what's missing?

Well I had fun driving the Peel P50 (coming in the next photodump). Also they're giving away free espressos at the Buick stand... and it was good. And there is the odd other freebie here and there.

It's also interesting how different manufacture's displays change and what concepts they decide to display. Lincoln's display was pathetic last year. This year, it's a bit more respectable, but still way cheaper than it should be. What's also interesting was the Tesla that was on display. Interesting because the autoshow is run by the Toronto Auto Dealers association... and Tesla doesn't do dealers.

If you hate crowds and want to sit in many cars, I recommend NOT going on Family Day.

Normally I take a day off work during the week to go... but couldn't do that this year.

And for $23, it's not a terribly expensive activity and it's a good activity to do by yourself... if you feel like doing something solo. As for how much time it takes... well that comes down to how much you want to look at. I typically spend ~6 hours at the show every year.

I find it at least as enjoyable as watching the Leafs lose at the ACC... which costs much more. It's also dirt cheap compared to other shows like the Gourmet Food and Wine Expo... where I have typically dropped $100-$150 every time I've gone.

LOL... that's a spotlight mounted up in the rafters lighting up one of the displays.

If you look to the right of where you clicked and see the triangular rafter frame in the distance, that's what it's attached to. Only it isn't in the shot. Had I aimed my el cheapo camera phone higher, you'd see.

But yeah... if you do look at it a certain way, it does look like two legs and feet dangling.

Definitely a lot of cool cars, you are right. GT, NSX, and Huayra I'd love to see. Some people haven't spotted the LaFerrari though - maybe it was a temporary exhibit? The Project 7, since it's a prettied-up F-Type, wouldn't be enough to convince me to go. The fact that there's a lot of old historic cars makes it seem to me that they couldn't fill up the venue with all new stuff. The biggest con would be the crowds - since I can only go on the weekend, it might make it hard to enjoy the cars.

The upper floor of the South Building has always been used for 'alternate' exhibits (such as the *amazing* classic car show this year). There used to be a few extra exhibits at the SkyDome, but the quality and variety of the show hasn't been higher.

LaFerrari is permanently on display near the TorStar booth on the main floor of the North Building. Huayra and the rest of the Italians are in the basement of the North Building.

Go @ opening (10:30; might be later on final day), but even then I found the crowds were uneven and waiting by the Ford GT for about 10 mins saw the ebb and flow.
