Since everyone else was posting pictures, I figured I might as well join in on the fun too!
I actually went down to the show yesterday with my dad, but just got around to posting these pictures now. This was our first time at the show and I really enjoyed it! However, the crowds were definitely not something I am used to! I've been to the Detroit auto show five times so this was a little different. The crowds were probably worse because we ended up getting there later than first expected. We were going to take the Grocery Grabber down, but it's engine decided it wanted to be a five cylinder so we had to drop it off at our mechanic. That meant taking the trusty Rav4 down. Woohoo! So yes, the Lexus did break again, but that story's for another post. Anyway, enjoy the pictures!
This was my first time seeing any Alfa Romeo in person, except for a Spider on the freeway once. The 4C was nice, but the 33 Stradale was just gorgeous.
I loved the AMG GT. The design is fairly simple, but it is just so effective. Needless to say, I want one!
This E63 AMG just screamed Jalopnik to me so I had to take a picture!
This is definitely one of my favorite cars at the show. Aventador Roadster, you will be mine one day!
The ATS-V was also very nice. It was especially menacing in black.
I liked the Avenir too! I especially like its color.
I liked the RC F more than I expected. That grill seems just as big in person, but it's less appalling somehow.
Obligatory NSX pictures. I was surprised with how similar this looked to the concepts they showed at Detroit a few years ago. Weirdly, half the interior was covered with what looked like a layer of carpet. It didn't even have gauges... that doesn't seem very production ready to me.
The 918 Spyder was pretty spectacular to see in person. Someone from my high school actually saw one in the wild about 10 minutes away from my house. I really hope I get to see it at some point.
The GT350 looked very mean in person. I'm not the biggest fan of the yellow, though.
Another obligatory auto show photo: the Ford GT. I was really surprised with how long and wide this car is. However, it's just as striking as it is in the pictures.
I know the 370Z is old, but I loved the Nismo version of it. Something about the red, black, and white just does something for me. The same goes for the GTR.
And of course, the new Miata. It looked great.
Well, those are all of my pictures that turned out. Hopefully our timing works out better next year so it's not as busy when we go!

Was this auto show all about dreary colors on cool cars?
Dat Huracan in Brown though. DAMN!

Pretty much! I actually didn't notice how boring the colors were, but you're right! Other than the few colorful ones I took pictures of, I think the Hellcats were pretty bright, but that's basically about it. I'm sure I missed some, but still.
I don't know who would ever think to get a Huracan in brown! Come on, it's a Lamborghini! I still think this is my favorite color for the Huracan. Not sure about that parking job though...

Just it being brown is such a weird happening. I would go Yellow though.

Hello from Upper Midwest Kinja! (uppermidwest.kinja.com) I didn’t see that you were at the auto show - I was there as well! It was on press pass day though...

Hello! Press passes definitely seem like the way to go. I would think the crowds aren’t quite as bad and the cars seem a lot more accessible.
I remember reading your truck hotel post. The idea was quite ingenious and it was a great read!
