So my orange '72 P1800ES was finally running! I drove around about 20 miles in the last two days.
Then today, on my way home, this:
Broken down on the side of the highway.
Unintended acceleration required that I turn the car off and pull over.
And then it refused to start back up again.
THE ADVENTURE CONTINUES.

I'm not seeing any skis. Now, I know what you keep in your Volvo is your business, but Volvo + snow - skis = WTF?

The skis will appear very shortly! Promise!

It's like... something that's almost a factory option. Volvos need to have skis.

I've got a 71 1800E. Love those cars.
Check the vacuum line to the distributor and maybe the air lines for the cold start valve. Those are near the throttle body. And if you're not a member of the 1800List on Yahoo groups, join up. Those guys know more than everything about our cars.

Good call! I think I actually may have forgotten to replace the vacuum line. I'll check the cold start valve stuff, too. But it's been starting up almost flawlessly the last couple days, even after sitting forever in -5F temps.

1800s are pretty bullet proof. If its not either of those things it will probably be something equally as simple.
Lots of the issues with my car were air leaks or bad electrical grounds.
Good luck

Are you in the volvo in that picture?

That's me!

Lol, I know that. I could've said that clearer. Are you sitting in the Volvo in the picture?

How can you be sad owning a P1800?

That's my Volvo!

It was very temporary. :)

Ha, I though so, but the interior, namely the seats looked more modern than I would've thought.

I noticed that, too! This picture is very misleading looking. The interior looks like hell.
