Do you have the infamous nVidia/ATi model where the solder keeps getting cracked from overheating?

having seen several macbook pros and macbooks die in my care....im not sure where people get the impression that they are built with care to justify their costs. When they do fail its always a major, component too like the "logic board" (just call it a damn motherboard mac) or the GPU.

Late-2011 15-inch Pro. Apparently, it's a known defect.

Yep, probably the same type of thing as my 07 MBP with the 8600M GT... solder melts off
I tried to fix it but it was dead ;_;

Can you help me. I have this and I'm out of warranty.
My computer has been ok since last repair almost 2 years ago. NOW randomly when I come back to it the macbookpro has died and gives me the message about restarting my programs because the computer had a problem and had to to turn off.
Whats the deal? is this what you are experiencing?

Mine just won't turn on at all because the GPU can't do anything. Looks like yours might be both hardware AND software. Since you're out of warranty, I don't see any other choice but to pay up and see someone about it.

I believe I do. Other than that, it's a stellar machine.

brother's MBP had the same issue. Got it replaced 3 months ago too.
