A good alternative to Auto Trader?

I've run out of cars to look at on Auto Trader, and Pistonheads isn't chucking up much choice around my area. Is there a good auto site with advanced search parameters (ie. Not Gumtree/eBay) that I'm missing?

Not that I'm aware of. Although Ebay's search parameters aren't too bad - no worse than AT, in my book.

Car and Classic is even worse, but at least they do have some cars which don't appear on other sites.

Gumtree search is f-ing useless, but a while back I wrote a hacky Excel macro to scrape the search results and find whatever string you're actually looking for. Do you want a copy? It needs minor tweaking because they changed their search URL format, but other than that should still work.

That would be fantastic, thanks. I'm struggling to find what I need!

Filedump it, I didn't realise OneDrive required an MS logon for collaborators.

How are you with VBA? Would you understand what to do to tweak things as needed, or should I do that first? Looks like they've changed the results page format as well as the URL, so it'd take a little while.

OK, try this:

It should work, but since they changed the format of the ad pages as well, that bit's barely working - I'm sure you can tweak it with no trouble.

Other than that, should be fairly obvious what to do - put in the right parameters for your search, and whatever text you want to find, and then you can use Excel autofilter on the results to find the hits. Looking at it now, I have no idea why I didn't just stick the hits in a list by themselves, but I guess I must have had a reason. It would be a simple enough change.

Cars.com isn't too bad, actually they're pretty similar to AutoTrader but you get some sellers that only advertise on one rather than both, so there's some different cars. They have a Classiccars.com associate site, too.

Sorry I should've said UK. The only thing you find on Craigslist over here is used panties and massage services.

For continental Europe, Germany mostly, I use autoscout24.EU and mobile.de Both are in English (optionally) and I believe you can search for cars located in the UK as well, filtering out the rest of Europe.
