I'm sure most of us still remember !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! from..well, forever ago. Local motors wanted to make a less expensive competitor for the Caterham 7 pretty much and they had the interweb design it then !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Is..this still a thing or has the project just stopped?

My guess is R&D. Takes a long time to develop a vehicle, source suppliers and distributors, set up supply chain, set up assembly.
For a smaller operation that can't toss insane amounts of cash out, I'm sure it is just taking time to get completed. This isn't meant in a bad way, and I'd prefer them to take their time to make it right instead of "on time".

Yeah, but for a web sourced idea, and how much they were trying to involve the public..you'd think they'd atleast try to keep the public updated on anything they are doing with it..right? I'm all for them taking their time and doing things right, but it'd be nice to know if they're still even working on it or not.

I didn't dig to far into it but the last I can find on it is them finding the winner of the votes. I'll probably dig deeper or email them and check what's up. Just because I really want this car to exist, no idea if I'd get one but I want it to be a option, haha.

Since that one's competition ended, they've likely been working out how to actually out it together. And in the meantime, they've shown off a 3D printed car (and held its design competition), put a drift bike into production.... Not a bad showing from a teeny tiny company.

It is most definitely coming. We had a small pause in development for budget approval at the beginning of the year, but parts are coming in and progress is being made. There is still much to do, and we encourage anyone to come and participate in the development.
