TVRs just seem awesome to me. No nonsense sports cars. Relatively lightweight. Powerful I6 engines, but they have had V8s and turbo motors as well. They were available in some pretty crazy colors. 10/10 would import after 25 years.

and boy do they hold their value. Tuscans are still going for £35,000.

Yes I've been checking since somebody keeps posting a pic of my favourite TVR, the Typhon.

The Sagaris is my favorite with the Typhon coming in at a strong second. Sagaris prices are 50k euros minimum it seems:(

I think that Cerbera race car (W112 BHG) actually had a Speed 12 engine... Two Speed Six inline-6 engines on a common crankshaft.

The TVR Cerbera Speed 12, originally known as the Project 7/12, was a high performance concept car designed by TVR in 1997. Based in part on then-current TVR hardware, the vehicle was intended to be both the world's highest performance road car and the basis for a GT1 class endurance racer. However, problems during its development, changing GT1 class regulations and the eventual decision that it was simply incapable of being used as a road car ended the idea, forcing TVR executives to abandon its development.

The vehicle's engine, displacing 7.7 litres and having twelve cylinders, was reportedly capable of producing nearly one thousand horsepower, although an exact measurement was never made. Nonetheless, its performance was said to be astonishing, and it may have been capable of hitting sixty miles per hour in the low-three second range and have a top speed greater than that of the McLaren F1.

Performance statistics

0-60 mph (97 km/h): 2.9 seconds

weight 2,205 lb (1,000 kg)

power: 800 bhp (597 kW; 811 PS)

top speed: 240 mph (390 km/h)

I think it was Jeremy Clarkson that described most TVRs as cars that were actually trying to kill you.

I was in London 2 months ago, and I saw one parked outside of Fulham's Craven Cottage. It was dark, but I could not believe I finally saw a TVR in person!

Have you heard a Speed 6 at full chat?

It's utterly fantastic. Guttural and raw, like some heathen war-god bellowing in rage.

Not low and lazy like an LS, but makes an E46 M3 with a sports exhaust sound tinny and small.

Brilliant noise.

I'd bet good money on that car belonging to Huw Jennings (look at the license plate), director of Fulham's excellent youth academy (excellent only newly, and largely due to Jennings' efforts—he was hired away at no small expense from Southampton's even better youth academy a few years ago).

TVRs sound fantastic. Those I6s are very guttural, and that old Rover/Buick V8 are very rumbly. Rust isn't a major problem either, since the bodies are made of fibreglass, although the chassis can suffer if not looked well. I've heard the V8 is pretty reliable, but those Speed Sixes need lots of attention.

That wouldn't surprise me. Let's hope his efforts help get Fulham promoted to the Premier League. I'd LOVE to see a Fulham/Newcastle match at the Cottage in the near future.

inline 6 is my favorite engine configuration. I'd be more than happy with just a Sagaris.

Something like half the players in their (pretty young) first team are from the academy, and a lot of them are quite highly regarded prospects; I'd say if they can hang on to them they'll be back up, and staying up, soon.
