What is the most forgotten mass produced car ever?
I give you the Sterling Bullet.

toyota echo?
this is actually kinda hard...

Never knew this existed, thank you.

Are we sure that's not just a ram with an aftermarket grille?
![]() 02/10/2015 at 17:41 |

There's one that I see around here from time to time. I just thought it was a Ram with a custom grille. It caught me off guard the first time I saw it.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 17:41 |

Honda Concerto perhaps..
![]() 02/10/2015 at 17:41 |
|
Nice try, that's a 3rd Gen Dodge Ram. Not fooling me today. :)
![]() 02/10/2015 at 17:42 |
|
I thought these were only used in commercial applications.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 17:44 |

I don't remember why, but just the other day I was saying to myself "Self, if you owned a last gen Dodge Ram 1500, you'd totally troll everyone and put a Sterling grille on it".
(I thought Sterling just made Chassis Cabs!)
![]() 02/10/2015 at 17:44 |
|
I don't think that's an actual Sterling Bullet. Looks like someone just took the grill and put it on a Ram 2500/3500. To my knowledge, the Bullet was only ever a rebadged 4500/5500 Dodge chassis cab.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 17:44 |

that's just a dodge ram no??
but my vote goes to the Dodge/Plymouth Duster and Sundance twins. You couldn't walk through a parking lot in the 90's with out tripping over a dozen of these things...
![]() 02/10/2015 at 17:45 |

Cadillac Catera. Though it's probably a good thing that it's forgotten.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 17:45 |

That's a Ram with a Sterling grill.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 17:46 |

Say whaaaaaa...?
Was that slotted in between the Civic and the Accord?
![]() 02/10/2015 at 17:47 |
|
On a very similar note to the Sterling, there's the Freightliner van (rebadged Sprinter)
![]() 02/10/2015 at 17:47 |
|
Thing is, that was sold as the Opel/Vauxhall Omega as well, and we love them here in northern Europe.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 17:48 |

No, Sterling actually sold rebadged Dodge Rams for commercial/business use.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 17:49 |
|
I did not know that! Here it's viewed as probably the worst thing Cadillac has ever produced. Getting that car, under a brand that is supposed to be synonimous with "luxury" was an absolute joke.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 17:49 |
|
They did, just 4500/5500s. Looks like somebody brought your idea to life.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 17:50 |
|
Just 4500 and 5500 chassis cabs, though. This is just somebody putting the Sterling grill on a regular Ram.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 17:50 |

It was, my grandmothers neighbour actually owns one.. It was the Rover 416 in another uniform :P
![]() 02/10/2015 at 17:50 |

define...mass produced? Whats the homologation threshold.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 17:51 |

Last gen Pontiac LeMans is up there. This thing was being made until 1993 somehow.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 17:53 |

Rover Streetwise. I used to see them all the time, but I haven't seen one in months..
![]() 02/10/2015 at 17:55 |

I know!! I'm not sure why anyone would bother with such a mod...But a Google Search shows that it is at least a somewhat popular mod. *Shrug*
![]() 02/10/2015 at 17:55 |

Also known as the Lotus Carlton :)
![]() 02/10/2015 at 17:56 |

Rover 213. I drove one once.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 17:56 |

Pontiac G3 (née Aveo), at least in the USA. They sold tens of them.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 17:57 |
|
Weren't they just rebadged Opels though?
![]() 02/10/2015 at 17:59 |
|
I actually liked that one.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 18:03 |

Yeah just checked the Wiki. Damn my premonitions.

short wheel based German RWD sedan? Yes please!
![]() 02/10/2015 at 18:12 |

I think those were the first rebadged Dawoos tha GM brought over.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 18:15 |

The Caddy That Zigs will live on forever.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 18:15 |

An Opel built by Daewoo and badged as a Pontiac.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 18:15 |
|
They still build them in China as the "MG 3SW", but with the pre-facelift grille.

When was the last time you saw a Tempo? Or an Aspire?
![]() 02/10/2015 at 18:18 |
|
It's a common "bro mod" from what I've seen on instagram. Also mercedes I just noticed you're from Chicago haha

Does anybody even remember the Suzuki Reno (Daewoo Lacetti)? It was basically invisible when new and it hasn't been gone that long, but they seem to have completely disappeared.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 18:25 |
|
I don't know how that rumour started, but the Kadett E was very much an Opel, not built by Daewoo. Daewoo did have a car with the same shape, but the Euro version was not made by Daewoo.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 18:27 |

If you can think of it than it hasn't really been forgotten. lol.
Saturn Astra. This is one of those cars, like a lot of Saturn's last line up, that I just wish had sold better.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 18:27 |
|
YESSSSS!!!! I've only seen one in person.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 18:29 |

The Mazda MX-6. No one ever thinks of this vehicle. When was the last time you saw one on the road?
I work at a Mazda dealership, and I haven't seen one in years!!
![]() 02/10/2015 at 18:30 |
|
It isn't a rumor. The Pontiac LeMans really was a rebadged Daewoo LeMans, which was a rebadged Opel Kadett built by Daewoo.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 18:34 |
|
Ah.. I read it wrong, sorry :) I thought you claimed that the Opel was a rebadged Daewoo... sorry.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 18:38 |

I'm going to say the Ford Tempo. Other than the guy here who has one, you never hear anything at all about them. The cars were all over the place, shedding pieces as they rolled along for the better part of the 80's and 90's.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 18:46 |

Hyundai Pony
They sold 25k in Canada, I haven't seen a single one.
P.s I want one....
![]() 02/10/2015 at 18:47 |

Forget about that, how about the Dodge Lancer?
Wouldn't have the Duster/Sundance/Shadow without it, since they basically used a shortened Lancer body, but nobody ever remembers the Lancer.
There's an elderly person with one around here that's in really nice condition. It's the only one I've ever seen.

My father owned a 1994 LS model. most fun I've had in a car on the road. There's a few for sale, and I cannot convince my mother it's not bad.

Someone in my neighborhood has a Suzuki Verona. It's in exactly the shape you would imagine it to be in.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 18:52 |

they sold it as the Chevrolet optra briefly here, nobody knows of them.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 19:08 |

Yeah, I've only seen one in years and it's parked on the street on my route to work. Gold and rust. I want to high-five the owner.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 19:10 |

buick somerset, maybe?
Shit man, I don't know.
STOP PUTTING THIS PRESSURE ON ME
![]() 02/10/2015 at 19:42 |

Yes I am!!! Soooo...guys like to make their bro trucks look like the commercial rebadge of their truck? *Sigh*
![]() 02/10/2015 at 19:50 |

if it's on instagram it must be true haha
![]() 02/10/2015 at 20:47 |

![]() 02/11/2015 at 02:30 |

It was a good car, but a bad Cadillac.

I present...the Chrysler Aspen. Yes they made this for multiple years:
