And Jeremy claims the Ferrari 400 was awful looking..
I'm sorry mate, YOU ARE WRONG.

I love them. I hope the prices stay low, I would even prefer mine with the GM slushbox

Best looking Ferrari Ever? I think so.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 12:49 |

It seems like a love it or hate it thing. I love it. Daft Punk loves it. No one else seems to.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 12:49 |

Indeed. Very wrong.

If I ever win the lottery, THIS will be the first car I buy.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 12:51 |

Perhaps not THE best, but it's up there. I love it.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 12:52 |

Huh.. never really thought about that. I could actually afford a Prelude. Thanks man :)
![]() 02/10/2015 at 12:53 |

It looks like an '89 Accord and an XJS had a love child.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 12:54 |

Turns out there's quite a few of us here on Oppo that loves it :)
![]() 02/10/2015 at 12:54 |

People Ferrari out Fieros. You should Ferrari out a Prelude!
![]() 02/10/2015 at 12:54 |

It looks awful as a Ferrari. As pretty much any other make it'd be fine. The main problem was that it was being sold at the same time as this -
![]() 02/10/2015 at 12:54 |

Not a bad thing if you ask me.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 12:56 |

I do love the 308 and the 328, but I'd actually rather have the 400. Yeah, I'm weird.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 12:56 |

y helo thar
![]() 02/10/2015 at 12:56 |

Much more affordable to buy and to keep fed.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 12:57 |

Now why would I ever do that? The Prelude looks great as it is :)
It'd be fun to do so though, I'll give you that.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 12:57 |

I know, love you Daft Punk, if I had more cash I would get one and swap the engine with a newer Maserati or something. The motor in them is a fucking nightmare, I talked to a guy who had one and that is the general consensus. It is pretty, the interior is great.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 12:58 |

Hehe, true. But the Ferrari 400 is one of those "if I win the lottery" cars, don't think I'd care much about the cost of keeping the car on the road at that point.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 12:59 |

Hey now, the Rover SD1 is an awesome looking car :)
![]() 02/10/2015 at 12:59 |

If I won the lottery I don't think there would be a single Ferrari on my list.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 13:00 |

For me it's one of those cars where I can't decide if I like it or not. It's not horrible, and definitely not the worst looking Ferrari, but I can't decide if it's awkward or just funky.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 13:01 |

Ferrari engines from that time were usually "rubbish", I agree on that part. A VW VR6 would probably fit though, the engine from a VW Golf R32 would make that Ferrari a proper beast.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 13:02 |
|
That's OK mate, I still love you ;)
![]() 02/10/2015 at 13:02 |

Probably awkward, that's mainly why I love stuff :P
![]() 02/10/2015 at 13:05 |
|
I'm leaving them all for you!
![]() 02/10/2015 at 13:06 |

It is a good looking car. However, one might argue it does *not* possess an indefinite, indescribable Ferrarishness. More of a brash, filling, and well seasoned Cornish meat pie.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 13:06 |
|
I likey
![]() 02/10/2015 at 13:07 |

True. But Cornish pasties are great :)
![]() 02/10/2015 at 13:11 |

The Maserati would still sound Italian, I doubt one of the newer engines would be too problematic. I hear a couple people have of course put LS1s in these, it makes sense but it doesn't sound right to me. I can't blame them either, its usable and the original engine would have you spending the cost of the car every few years I would imagine. I saw one last year running in good shape for $15k.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 13:12 |
|
Give me this color please!
![]() 02/10/2015 at 13:13 |
|
True, but for me it's more how the car looks, not how it sounds if I'm honest. An LS1 would probably be a great choice as well.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 13:13 |
|
Yeah, that's the perfect colour for a 400.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 13:18 |

He was wrong for the first and last pics. Right for the second.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 13:18 |
|
So does the Fiero. Doesn't mean that it's not awesome when poorly Ferraried.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 13:20 |
|
Hehe, good point. But I'd actually love to own a Fiero as well if I'm honest, can't find them here though.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 13:21 |
|
That's probably my fault though, finding somewhat hi res pictures of a 400 is not easy :P
![]() 02/10/2015 at 13:22 |
|
I'll probably own one someday, probably as a winter beater. GM made so many of them that they're practically disposable over here.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 13:25 |
|
Here a Fiero in decent shape would be 11k $US.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 13:27 |
|
Here in SF there are lots of Gran Turismos, I like to hear them in sport mode, sexy sound. That combined with the way the Ferrari looks inside and out would be great. I have a triple carbed 240Z, while I do like the Rx7 looks, I hate how rotary sounds. I can't cruise in a car without a nice note, its part of the experience for me.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 13:28 |

Seems like I'm in the wrong business. Normal ones (ie - not the Formula, GT, or an '88) don't seem to go for more than 2-3 here in good shape. Ugly ones that run can be found pretty easily under a grand.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 13:32 |
|
Keep in mind that I live in Norway. A New VW Golf 1.2 is something like 34k $US :P
![]() 02/10/2015 at 13:41 |
|
Yeah, I know. I just see prices elsewhere in the world on old American cars that aren't sought after here and wonder how difficult they are to export. It looks like the market in the rest of the world for American cars is higher than the American market for cars we can't get here.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 13:50 |
|
Not ugly, but if you are driving a Ferrari, you probably don't want people mistaking your car for a Plymouth Sapporo.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 13:54 |
|
Sweden LOVES American cars, and there's a huge business selling and shipping cars to Sweden. We love them here as well, but not quite as much. Usually we love cars that are quite expensive in the US though, '57 Bel Airs.. '59 Cadillacs.. But we also love Chevy Novas and S10s.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 13:57 |
|
Well.. uhh.. I actually love that car though (I really do, not joking, I'd LOVE to own a Sapporo). Thing is, I don't care what other people think :)

He IS a great ape isn't he? I know it's comedy though, so no hard feelings :)
![]() 02/10/2015 at 14:06 |

Anything from the 50s is expensive here, and the 60s are quickly catching up. Novas are still cheap. I'm really surprised that S10s are popular, though. Here it was always viewed as a piece of crap work truck that wasn't as good as the Ranger.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 14:08 |
|
The S10 tend to end up as an off road toy here, they did not sell all that well, so it's often cheaper to import one.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 14:12 |

I wouldn't say he was wrong. It certainly isn't beautiful.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 14:19 |

Yeah. Well.. That's just like.. your opinion man.
But fair enough, I don't expect everyone to agree with me. :)

FerraLude?? PrelAri?? Interesting idea...
