I'll start, the 100,000 km (60,000 miles) service for my Renault Megane Grand Tour set me back a wonderful $3,200. How about you?

$1,100, and I almost got screwed over with $800 coolant hoses.

For a scheduled service? I don't recall anything exorbitant, but my GTI is getting near 80k miles and that one is supposed to be around $800.

Define 'service' . I took my car to get some suspension kinks fixed, and ended up dropping north of $4,300 on that and a bunch of other goodies.

If you mean service, as in like maintenence dealer stuff, I think i'd say it was about a year ago during the S60's 68,500 mile service.

It had a bad sensor behind the airbag and a bunch of other stuff that threw me back around $1,350.

Clutch and flywheel were $3,200 on the E36

Theres a thing called a 60,000 mile service? jk

If you own a lemon car like me you have paid in total over $2700 for a master cynlinder breaking way before it supposed to, new rotors & pads every 10ft, an alignment & new alternator. But thats not the whole list.

I think the most I've spend was about $400 to have custom exhaust put on. Otherwise I do my own.

I can't even begin to imagine what service costs on the S8 are going to be like, 5k is a lot of money.

I do, on most things at least. If I am ever unsure of myself I will at least have it checked by a mechanic before I do anything

Fluid change for the DSG transmission.

Sold my last car in 2001 ('97 SHO) - I think maybe a service on the 300D was over 600 bucks once, but that's the most I've spent.

You never know if you can until you try. I had 0 experience before I bought my truck, and I havent screwed up anything yet! As long as you are aware of your limitations and try to bend your limits but not break them you should be okay. Why dont you give it a shot! an oil change is a great place to start

I don't know, my cars are very sensitive, if I don't take them to the Citroen dealer they'll explode.

I won't even start the list... but the biggest single expense was the second transmission for $2700 on my currently non-op 2001 Jetta TDi.

I am now dd-ing a 1991 Prelude and had the timing belt changed, coolant flushed, atf changed and tires installed for $924 and I don't feel bad about that expense considering the car was free to me.

Everything except tire mounting because I don't have the tools.

The SHO was the last car you owned?

Kinja'd!!! Steve in Manhattan > My citroen won't start

Yes. Thought I might keep it here in Manhattan, but it would have been 500 bucks a month for a garage, and I'd have used it maybe 4 times a year. Loved that car, but it had to go.
