*some Americans
Honestly, this is a rare example of space efficiency here. Trucker and interstate culture is a thing, and so businesses designed purely around letting people stop and spend money while they're on a trip. When driving on any interstate, it's hard not to see fast food, rest stops, gas sations, etc. covering all the exits.

We've got drive through bottle shops in Australia too.

Don't some states have a legal requirement that the driver opens their door and puts at least one foot on the floor of the building?
Like that makes any ruddy difference.
It's a drive through off licence for goodness sakes.

It's not about laziness as much as it is about efficiency and discretion, I'd say.
Laziness is being able to order anything off amazon and having it arrive in 2 days, so you never need to leave the house except to buy refrigerated/frozen items.

That's your problem right there - you're standing. You gotta be SITTING DOWN like Jesus said in the Bible.

It gets better. Not only are there drive through stores to get packaged alcohol (cold beer, etc) but you can also get frozen margaritas and daiquiris, ready to drink. AT THE DRIVE THROUGH.

There's a pub in Vernon that has a "drive-thru". More of a "drive-up" window, but still.

I'd take a diesel bro truck though there, make the beer all sooty.

Really? These have been around for a while. Literally anything in the U.S. can be made a drive through.
Wedding (because nothing says 'I love you' like I can't be arsed to get out the car).
Funeral (because you just want to check their gone, you can't of been friends as you'd of gotten your arse out of the car and walked into the ruddy building).
I love my car but some things shouldn't involve sitting in the car to do.

Oh shit, I forgot about this. I went to school with the kid who's Mom owns/owned it.

You don't need to leave the house for refrigerated/frozen things either. I know, I'm one of the people delivering them.

drive through bottle-shops are pretty much the standard in Australia.
You still have to get out of the car at most of them to grab what you want, but it means you don't have to carry a case of beer very far.

Amazon Prime is the pinnacle of retail efficiency. Nothing lazy about it imo

we've had these in Texas since forever. They are awesome and super convenient. Beer runs at maximum efficiency.
I don't mind walking to the nearest..... oh wait, we don't have centralized cities here in this gigantic state lol :] We have to drive pretty much everywhere here. It's not a matter of laziness. Once we have beer via delivery drones, then that is pushing it lol.

The more I learn about the US the more happy I am that I'm Canadian. I'm a pretty heavy dude (250lbs) but I do not use drive thrus at all, if my fat ass wants a burger I can walk in the store to get it. I walk everywhere and if I go to the shopping center I take the first parking spot I see not drive around for 20 mins looking for the spot closest to the door.
But there is one thing to top it off. this is the one thing that absolutely infuriates me:
"So you are now 400lbs and you need a scooter to get around why don't you try walking a bit it might help your situation."
*Now I understand that some people are genuinely sick and this not their fault but I refuse to believe that these sick people all join at walmart to sing kumbaya together if you are not sick get up and walk!*
