Whats the Oppopinion on them? I haven't seen much Z love here other than Dsscats 300.
The used market is putting them in my price range so I've been curious. *Note: No kids, dont plan on having kids anytime soon, have access to a utility vehicle.

Its the best looking Z since the 300ZX, I think. I have a 1971, I would drive one of these if I were to buy a newer one. They look pretty nice, I'd like to try the NISMO.

Look cool
Decent performance but feels more like a sedan than sports car
Some nice interior stuff on the 370
Can't see out
Not very comfy or roomy
Overall I think unless you totally NEED those looks, might as well get the same basic driving experience but with more room and less attention with an Infiniti.

get a 370z nismo!!
These are like g37's without a backseat. I really like these, I wouldn't mind daily driving one at all.

They're desperately in need of a refresh.

I like. Not the best, but far from the worst. That, RX-8 or S2000 even would be great options I think

Seating position is weird, sorta up and forward and not the low-slung position you expect. Engine is very high strung. Auto rev-matching downshifts are fun. It's smaller than you think it is. Definitely a performance bargain, but not a car you want to mod or own for a long period of time. Hard to get in and out of. Quick, but also heavier than you think it is. Yes, smaller and heavier.

I don't know, I love my 1977 S30, the current Z is a little bloated in my opinion. I would buy a 370 if Nissan does some drastic weight reduction.

Really, I think that's the 370Z niche. People who are scared of rotaries and don't want a convertible.

I honestly don't like the looks that much, but it's a great car. I'm biased a bit seeing as I ahve a 350Z, lol. Which, btw, the 3.5 sounds worlds better then the 3.7, unless you dump a lot of money in the exhaust on a 3.7

It's drives like a heavy car, which is nice in some cases. Suspension is a little hard but the pedals and paddle shifters make you feel like you're driving something potent. It's quick enough for a road car.

I'm of the opinion that 350Z + Money for mods used for DDing and highway cruising > 370 used for weekend fun.

or even, 350Z+money saved not buying a 370=money for mods for 350z=faster car then a 370Z for weekend fun ;)

I think it's a very nice looking car definitely and a solid performer. If you dig it and can afford it, go for it. I'd probably wait until it got cheaper but you definitely wouldn't be disappointed with one

i like these. both in looks and driving dynamics. especially in looks. but i must say i've only been on one test drive about 3 years ago.
the one thing i would point out... to me... and i'm not a big guy... it did seem a bit cramped in there. like, i wouldn't be excited to take it on a 2000 mile road trip. also, and i've mentioned this in a couple different posts, and i dont remember or even ever knew the specifics on this car, but consider the importance of a reclining seat. either to catch a nap if youre tired on the road, or for your passenger during a road trip.

Hasn't there only been two models since the 300ZX? This and the 370Z?

That's what I was thinking. G35's are pretty much in the same range and the afford you more room. A little space to recline for a cat nap is always needed.

I think the 280s get a little more love around here just because they were pretty basic cars with a little more focus on what they were supposed to be about.

The back seat in g35's aren't that usable, but having that space is irreplaceable for those "unexpected" moments.

I realize that with my username, it'll seem kinda biased but I'll throw in my two cents anyways:p love the new Z's. I think I prefer the 370 a little more, mainly in terms of the cabin design, just swoops down into the back nicer imo. But the 350 is a nice looking sports car and that price is getting pretty reasonable now while I think the 370 still costs a little more.

As a huge Z guy, the 370 is basically better in every aspect than the 350. The build quality, the engine note (with exhaust sounds freakin' awesome!), the drivetrain, suspension, stance etc. I think that new they're way overpriced but on the used market they're a great value. I wasn't particularly sold on the looks at first but simply lowering the car a bit does wonders. Anyway, it's a good car, shame about no turbos though :(

I think the 350Z should be the go-to Jalopnik/Oppo recommendation to anyone who wants a fun car. They're cheap and do everything pretty well, sitting in that nice middle ground of being reasonably light without forcing you into a gutless engine. The 370Z improved on everything, it just isn't as cheap and plentiful.
But affordable and competent means they sold a million, so the same thing that makes them cheap keeps them from ever being "Jalop". If you want a 370Z it's a great car, just don't expect much enthusiasm from drivers of quirky Volvos, diesel C classes, and Saab wagons.

I'd say it is sept for the price, looks, and engine not (stock for stock, also the 350Z has the option of SG long tube headers..which are impossible to find, but sound far better then any 370Z haha)
![]() 02/08/2015 at 13:00 |

This is true.. But rotary or convertible option doesn't scare most car enthusiasts so I just thought those might be good options

The RX-8 and S2000 will be a bit more nimble, but they're also slow as molasses. You buy the Z as a compromise between 3500+ pound boats with power and go carts that can't accelerate without a triple downshift.
![]() 02/08/2015 at 21:12 |

Yeah, that makes sense I guess. It just seems like I see 370's all the time so I might just think that they're a little more commonplace and boring than some others
![]() 02/09/2015 at 08:23 |

Hmm, yeah the 370Z wins in the performance category, interior category, generally speaking I'd say it looks better and stays more "true" to the Z lineage, but I'll concede that the 350 is cheaper.

I just don't like the catfish eyes the 370 has when it comes to looks, lol
