So this is a thing that is happening. Friend of mine who used to use this truck to transport his Ducati to the track is now retired, and has lost interest. Car is a running gas (1.6 or 1.7, I forget) model with factory A/C!
I'll be going out next Thursday to test drive it and put a deposit, and will be transporting it home next month. The guy is super legit - I can't wait!

That looks really clean! ::high-5::

I was expecting an ATS.

Shit, that looks clean!

I'm so jealous. I really want a diesel one for my 60 mile daily commute.
![]() 02/07/2015 at 13:17 |

Awesome. I want one really bad.
![]() 02/07/2015 at 14:19 |

officially jealous
![]() 02/07/2015 at 15:33 |

Whoa, that's clean. How many older Vdubs do you have now?
![]() 02/07/2015 at 16:55 |

That is most definitely not a Cadillac. I've been tricked!
![]() 02/08/2015 at 14:21 |

everyone needs a clean mk1!

I have a diesel one - major project status but the engine is running. If you're around northern VA we could work something out; I'm planning on selling it.
![]() 02/08/2015 at 14:23 |

This'll be three; Rabbit, project diesel caddy (probably selling it), and this one, which is a gasser.
I had a 2013 GTI, now totaled, and wife has a 2015 GTI. Haha

thanks!

It's gorgeous. Guy that owns it is a master mechanic, owned his own shop, now specializes in porsche and ferrari but is semi-retired. Used this for transporting his Ducati to the track, but as that's sold he doesn't want it to sit

Where are you located? I'm near DC, I can help you find one...

why is part of that in italics?

That's awesome haha, ever thought about getting yourself an Mk7?
I remember a while back you said you hit a deer or something with the '13?
![]() 02/08/2015 at 16:57 |
|
I'm on the west coast, so that's probably not going to happen, lol.
![]() 02/09/2015 at 09:41 |
|
haha, yeah, that might be difficult
![]() 02/09/2015 at 09:42 |
|
yeah, I totaled my 13 with the deer incident.
I drive the wife's mk7 occasionally, and may be getting the mk7 R in a manual once it's available; still trying to decide if I want to do that or put more into the mk1s though.
![]() 02/09/2015 at 09:42 |

uh, no idea. haha
![]() 02/09/2015 at 15:28 |

Get it! I saw one at the DC Auto Show, looked super nice.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 09:18 |

Haha, I know. I've seen a few from HQ come through here for service (sidebar: Pirelli Sottozero winters look gangster), but I can't decide if I want to tie up that much cash...it's a lot of mk1 stuff.

Neato - missed this. Go through and make sure the whole A/C compressor bracketing system is tight, because if it ever starts rattling 'twill be a pain in the rear. It's probably better than mine just by not being on a diesel, though.
![]() 02/10/2015 at 13:59 |
|
Noted, thanks! Oldest car I've ever had with working A/C was a 96 Cherokee Sport, so I'm not familiar with the older systems, haha.

Haha, how far away is work from home? If it was short distance, I'd Mk1 all the things. But if it was like 20 minutes, I'd personally have to Mk7 it.
![]() 02/11/2015 at 16:21 |
|
haha. It's like 40 minutes, worse with traffic.
![]() 02/11/2015 at 19:55 |
|
Time for an Mk7, haha. How does the a/c work in those things?
![]() 02/13/2015 at 09:30 |
|
hahahaha. What's A/C?
![]() 02/13/2015 at 15:40 |
|
Hahaha, at least the heat probably works?
![]() 02/13/2015 at 15:50 |
|
Mercifully, yes!
![]() 02/13/2015 at 15:56 |
|
Haha, well at least that. If I had no air conditioning in DC summer+traffic I'd have a heatstroke or something, lol.
![]() 02/14/2015 at 16:16 |

It does get a bit uncomfortable, haha
![]() 02/14/2015 at 17:06 |

That sounds rather uncomfortable for sure, haha.
