I don't think 11 is all that bad truthfully.
I've been in the single digits; it's not fun.

im supposed to get 14 city/19 highway, and while 90% of my driving is in town, I still only average about 11-12 mpg.

So glad I drive a gas guzzling full size sedan that would destroy his econobox in a crash and probably kill him along with it.

In a world where Tahoes get 24 highway I don't see an issue with SUVs.. But I also love me some SUVs, so I'm biased.

I love SUV's as well, not the newer ones as much that can't actually be used off-road, but early 2000's when they had proper 4WD and 4LO and big 4-6 liter engines, I think a proper SUV needs to be Body-on-frame, which is what mine is.

"Tits yeah I DD this. Hell yeah I wear Tap Out t-shirts. Hell no I ain't got No Fear. Get a good gallon per mile. Drops to 3 gallons a mile when I'm rollin coal on all you Eurofags and flying Ole Glory in the bed."

Heh. I was pretty happy to be getting 12 MPG out of my Yukon while sitting in traffic. Especially with the 8.1. But don't tell that guy.
I do consider myself conscious of the environment and how we use it, but in the grand scheme of things I didn't actually drive all that many miles, and when I could drive something more efficient I would.
Then I got a Volt and killed about a billion archeological sites and melted 75 babies digging for whacko battery chemicals. But it's all good cuz now I run on electricity that would have gone to waste by charging at night!

Personally, I don't care for SUV however how someone wants to spend their money is their business.

there is a shop about 30 miles from me that seriously has about 5 bro-trucks sitting out in front of it.

son, if you were really environmentally conscious you'd stop eating meat, that will save the most in terms of CO2.
But naw, steak is too good.

Surprisingly, the town I live in now doesn't have that many bro-trucks/dozers. Which is really surprising considering there is a lot of farming around this area. Interesting that when I live a city that wasn't close to farming, I saw a lot more; and all of them had Farming license plates. Interesting how that works.

Let's say "environmentally aware". I know the damage I'm doing, and I'm not overly 'wasteful'...

the town where I live is a college town, but it's rural as well, most people are either employed by the University, places that support it and cater to the students, or are farmers, we have some of the best wheat farming where I live.
I want to do this to him

Is it cheating to say that I split the difference and owned a 60+ mpg motorcycle (that's a hell of a lot more fun than almost any 40+mpg car, comparison to a Tesla is cheating) and had a low-teens mpg pickup?
I managed to save enough money riding the bike to completely offset the payment and insurance and then some when I compared it to the money I'd have literally burned driving the truck.

No, as long as you like driving, even if you do try to be economical with gas i don't care
and even if you hate gas guzzling cars, i don't care, as long as you tell me to my face and not hide behind the realm of internet anonymity.

While I'll admit to trying to be more ecologically minded than most, I'd be lying if I said that the biggest influence wasn't saving money. I looked at the direction gas prices were trending (this was early 2008), did the math, and realized that I could either literally burn my money or have another toy to show for it.
