We went to the store around lunchtime today and it wasn’t too horrible.

I DID go to Central Market on Christmas Eve. HOLY CRAP. The line for the express checkout was probably 75 people deep when I got in it. It moved really fast though. I think I was in line less than 10 minutes.

There was a really old man that jumped the line behind me when I was about 8 people from the front of the line. I was fairly certain there was going to be a story on the news about an old man getting beat to death at a fancy grocery store on Christmas Eve, but the folks behind me were incredibly cool about it. I didn’t get a good look at his pants, but the size of his balls must have been just otherworldly.

Yeah, this year I finally remembered to buy champagne 4 days in advance. I am not going within several miles of the state store today.

The police usually have to direct traffic at our local costco at least they opened a new one. Some times I see the line at the costco gas station and say “hello no”.

I went to the grocery story, the beer store, and the liquor store like an idiot at 4:00.

I went to two grocery stores today.

First I hit up the fancy grocery store for steaks and crab meat to make crab cakes. It was reasonably busy with people shopping for their NYE meals.

Then I went to Woodman’s, the gigantic and cheap grocery store with a gigantic and cheap liquor store with great selection and low low prices because they don’t take credit cards, only cash or debit, among other cost cutting measures. Because I needed to get absinthe for sazeracs and the fancy grocery store didn’t have it but Woodman’s has everything. Shit was getting serious at the Woodman’s liquor store. People everywhere buying every kind of booze imaginable.

Then I went into the grocery store section of Woodman’s to get sugar cubes, and it was super chill.

Yep, the only viable time at our Costco gas is before 8:45am or so. Totally worth it though, for 93 octane.

Only once I’ve got to a store and noticed the senior citizens were taking longer than normal to get out the store (no offense senior citizens) and walked out & just went to walgreens.
