Hey all,
I’ve been an oppo reader for a few years now, and finally I’m making my first post! I really wanted to share what I got to see a few nights ago on the street in my town. IT’S THE BRAND NEW BMW M2! Not yet for sale, and with no MSRP yet, I was blown away to see it on the street. I’ve got to say that I’m totally in love with this thing. Seeing it in the flesh was so much nicer than the photos I’ve seen online, and because it’s so small it just looks like so much more fun to drive than the M3/4 twins. Sorry about the grainy cell phone photos.
Notice the MFR plates and the funny zebra print badge covers. they were everywhere. including the wheel caps (its a strange pattern)
lastly a picture around the front, (notice the bumpers funnels air to a big rad/intercooler just like the m3
final thoughts, this thing looks awesome the proportions just look so right. let me know what you guys think.

Wow! that blue is much nicer that it appears in the promo images for the M2. Can’t wait for a TD in one.

even better in person. it did super well at night, really deep “wet” feel with a heavy amount of flake that worked great with streetlights/lit up trees. awesome color.

Cool find for sure. Not really a fan of anything BMW has put out lately but I do think this is quite an attractive car.

What’s the point of covering up the badges? I’d bet pretty much anybody who saw the LED’s and the kidney grilles would know it’s a BMW anyway.

its true, the “camo badges” did nothing to hide the car’s identity, and just made it stick out even more. they are also pretty ugly, kinda cheap plastic. all i can think of is maybe its a legal thing. like the dealerships have an agreement with the MFRs that says the cars can’t be shown to the public before an MSRP is agreed upon (still pending as far as i understand), and this is bmw’s way of satisfying their legal obligation. this however, is all speculation...

if it comes to it, I only live one block away from where this was taken, so whether I’m entitled to it or not I’m sure can get there first! possession is 9/10ths of the law?

Somewhere in North Jersey I’m assuming? They’ve got 10 or so running around with cameo’d badges. I went over the BMW NA a few weekends ago and shot these . The one you spotted could easily be the same one I did.
