Found on CL. 1 of 1,000 produced in Blazing Yellow ( !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ). Dunno if it’s an auto or the 6-speed manual. Written off due to a heavy front-end collision. It’s rarer than the gray version but not as desired because everyone wants the rare !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

Sucks, but how is that yellow color unique? It was one of the main colors used on the Coupe for exemple...

The coupe was Japan-only and in super-low production numbers (not intentional, but due to a fire in the factory). Blazing Yellow was only available on the ‘02 SE for North America.

?? Where did you read about that fire thing?? I kind of want to read more. A coupe is on my “to-buy list”. I live in Japan and while rare, I know of a few, including one just next to my place

I know of a fire that halted ‘05 Mazdaspeed Miata production, but not the coupe. Maybe same factory?

December 14th/15th, 2004 fire that destroyed the plant.
Vehicle production at two Mazda Motor Corp. facilities in Japan was stopped temporarily due to a fire Dec. 15 at its Ujina No.1 plant in Hiroshima.
The fire started near a painting line and burned for about seven hours before being extinguished, reports Reuters .
No injuries resulted. The shutdown cost production of some 472 vehicles,
Reuters
says. Ujina No.1 produces 1,000 vehicles per day, including the Miata and RX-8.
Also a supposed official statement from Mazda.
Subject: no more Miatas until the NC
Our inventory manager, Mike Moran, just informed me that there will not be any more Miatas produced due to the fire at the factory in Japan and that this also affects MPV and RX-8 production.
We were supposed to get 5 more 2005 Mazdapseeds but since they were not produced before the fire, we won’t get them. If you were waiting awhile longer to get an MSM, you might want to snag one while you can.

I think so. It probably destroyed all the machinery required to produce the chassis so Mazda ran out of bodies/chassis to turn into coupes.

I don’t think it is related... All Coupes are 2004 models, produced in 2003. They are also all numeroted to 200.

Strip the suspension and drivetrain and put it all in a Honda S600. Too bad it’s really far from me, otherwise I’d buy it just to do that.
