So did M-B’s marketing gurus figure out many of their customers have narrow garages/parking situations to justify this potential legal nightmare when the car surges forward and kills someone?

It has to be a Europe thing, it just has to be. They apparently have insanely small garages and no driveways.
I’m sure MB/BMW will fire back with: “Well if the driver cant see past the garage door opening... this will allow him/her to exit and carefully back the vehicle out of the garage while watching for traffic”
(while dodging traffic)
