Friend of mine sent this to me, some idiots geniuses at his school decided to try and drift this Mach 1 on completely bald tires, in a Khols parking lot, with other cars in it . Thankfully, noone was hurt, and it reallt could have been a lot worse. The poor Mustang was a stick, too :/ For any Oppos having a rainy day where they are, stay safe out there; you never know when idiocy like this can strike.

As someone whose owned two Mach 1s, one of them being an Azure Blue ‘03 model, that really hurt my heart to see. I’m glad no one was hurt, but that car needs to be taken away from them, stat .

Maybe Rear Toe-In is the new Negative Camber.

Parallel parking is a breeze!

I disagree. That car deserves a better driver.

I don’t have to say anything, the pictures above speak volumes. But I can say they shouldn’t be drifted in busy parking lots whether or not they are affordable (subjective) and have a V8.

I meant the driver got what they deserved. The Mustang was only doing what it was built to do.

this morning I was following a guy into my High School, and none of his brakes were coming on.

I followed him, and when he parked I pointed it out to him, and he said he had been told before. I proceeded to move my car as far away from him as possible.

A majority of people that own these shouldn't be drifting them anywhere.

The price of this era pony car is actually getting very affordable. Its the insurance that makes it hard to do at this age.

Actually, when I first got my Mach at 17 insurance didn’t change much based on the car. It was all due to do age. A Civic wasn’t much different price wise.

I just want to hug my own Mach right now. It hurts looking at this. I want to know why the driver thought that was a good idea.

What! When I was in HS I bought a 4th gen Z28. They wanted $240 a month for insurance.

I have a friend who’s paying north of $300 a month, because this spring he was rear ended by a woman in a jeep texting while driving. (Below:this was a sad day, 2.5XT, 5MT, rebuilt engine with STI mods pushing 300hp after the belt skipped a tooth at 115.

Kinja'd!!!

He also drives this now, so the insurance costs are stratospheric: newer, more luxurious, faster (unmodified, but then again what can you do to a n/a 3.2 anyways..) A6 Avant, “sport alloys”, with the full S-Line package. The insurance company looks at him and says 18 y/o male+luxury car+”performance” car+ displacement of motor, # cylinders, etc. and throws the book at him. Meanwhile the one tool at my high school who’s on his THIRD honda civic in a YEAR (he keeps bottoming out and destroying the subframe/oil pan/fuel/brake lines/exhaust, and his insurance is WAY cheaper, just because it’s a civic, and he hasn’t reported anything as well, so there’s that. It’s just aggravating, to see people do stuff like that and not be penalized for it, but my buddy’s paying through the nose because he reported something that wasn’t even his fault.

Kinja'd!!!

/Rant over, buddy’s audi for your time

One guy actually did, when over the summer, 17 year old me (turned 18 in October) called Hagerty to ask if they could insure a 1973 Jensen Interceptor... The guy actually chuckled and told me I’d have to wait a little while, or to have my parents start a policy and add me to it. My dad’s company “purchased” it, so the car could be registered in my dad’s name and driven by me, which it was.
