They are literally the same thing people...
If I had a dollar for every Idiot banker-insurance rep-finance what-have-you, who asked me for both in the same breath I wouldn’t need to be doing this in the first place. (what that means is; I would have a lot of dollars)
Im an accountant but I’m not sorry.

dat plate. how have you not gotten caught yet?

That is my registered number. Once I point that out it usually solves that issue, and if they still look skeptical I tell them why, which is because my truck/hatch is euro it isnt tall enough for a US plate, so buying the custum plate is the far easier alternative.

Hi, this is your friendly local Audiot, chiming in to remind you that I want your car.

Idk, Its a risk. But my car is a wagon, which means most people dont even see me. Also I work from home so I’m on the road at off peak hours.
For added proof I even keep my NY plate to demonstrate that it wont fit in the recess. I feel the overall euroness of my car helps keep cops from profiling me, like Im already way different. Plus If they punch in my plate numbers and stuff it all comes back as it should; 95 Audi Green, suburban etc.

I think you think that cops go extra hard for license plates but they don't! They don't care about no front plate either. Just don't speed and they'll leave you alone is the rule of the thumb. Oh and don't be black.

Reminds me of the time that I had to explain the concept of retained earnings to an attorney who was just completely sure that my valuation of his client’s business was wrong. Sure, I’ll accept criticism or debate of my assumptions, but if I have to spend 2 hours explaining a fundamental element of a balance sheet to you then I’m not going to take shit from you, guy.

And for Audis like that one, it’s all loss, no profit.

I’m not at all surprised that at least some people in the legal system are terrible when it comes to looking at numbers and what they mean.
With some family case law I read, it’s clear that at least some in the legal industry don’t understand the difference between gross/net income.

On behalf of the legal profession, I apologize that many of us are idiots. That’s what happens when you get every Joe Blow opening a law school in a strip mall because tuition is ungodly high and the feds provide easy money.

1995 Audi S6 with 48 history records. At least it isn’t like the guy I saw with a Euro plate on the front of his VW that had his regular tag number “P(two letters)(four numbers).”

I also work with some attorneys on a regular basis that are right up to speed with my analyses and they’re great to work with (even better to watch cross an opposing expert witness), but it really is amazing how many attorneys wind up in a field of law with a heavy finance/accounting component and are not just under-prepared but completely unprepared. It’s hard to blame a person with an undergrad degree in psychology or poli sci for not having the business acumen that their financial experts do, but it’s awfully hard to communicate our findings effectively when they’ve got nothing in the way of financial literacy.

About 50% of my workload is in connection with financial expert witness testimony on family law cases, and what you’ve said is completely true. It’s worse when a judge doesn’t have a clue, though; dumb opposing counsel or experts are fun, but unqualified judges ruin cases, estates and, sometimes, case law.

If you don’t mind me asking, where are you located? I am always looking to add good experts to my list of go-to folks. Thanks.

(its an S6, just in case you were being funny lol)

On the B5 S4 I did that, in the beginning the font was a euro plate with my generic tag #, and the rear was the state issued plate. I worked with the bumper better as you can see, especially sine it was recessed for the euro plate anyways. Eventually I came up with S4VANT and changed my tag numbers accordingly.

From experience; troopers care, only time my excuse didnt work on the scene, but I’ll be seeing that tool in court soon.
But, for the most part you are absolutly right, just keep your head down and they wont notice. However if your car is loud, slammed with obnoxious tints, and sticker bombed be prepared to be singled out.

Haha Ive gone through this a few times.. We should revolt, no one can stop us, they would not know how to.

Lol not at all, this is from the time when the germans werent being cheap/cutting corners. I have already been offered twice as much as I paid for the car. Also It has yet to leave me stranded or concerned. Anything 98 and up, and you’re sailing a sinking ship.
