My family had a Cordoba like this before my brother and I were born. For some reason they never sold it and my father just stupidly parked it on a back part of our lawn where it sat and rusted to death for over 20 years. Was finally towed away when I was 12 or so.

I had a strange emotional / sentimental attachment to that car. I never rode in it and only ever saw inside it with the doors open once when they were towing it away...probably one of the reasons I am such a petrolhead nowadays, there was just something so sad and forlorn about a kid like me growing up and watching such a proud thing just wither away...

I’m not an American car guy at all, really (although I respect them), especially those from the Malaise Era, but that one....well, that one was different. I found the key in a box years later when we moved and keep it on my keyring to this day as a memento...
