So where will Oppo be when all the basements in the United States open up and descend upon the world to see Star Wars?
I’ll be in line...likely dressed like a Mandalorian (Possibly drunk).

Work holiday party, also drunk

You know, this should be interesting...

For the parents of the grown men living in the basement, remember now is a good time to fumigate/ sanitize down there

Going to be riding a train to Toronto. Probably won’t be drunk.

My brother’s Mandalorian armor is too small for me, and I haven’t had a chance to make the Imperial Guard outfits my friend and I have been wanting.

true story, I had a 1230 AM ticket for Phantom Menace on opening day, I even scanned in the ticket stub. I will wait.

I want to go for opening day, but there’s no way I’d do that.

Probably at home. On YouTube. Or Hulu.

Cleaning up after the basement dwellers when they leave a shitload of popcorn/soda/candy spewed all over the floor/seats/god knows what else at work.

You sir...are a hero to all of nerdkind. If you are in Houston, I’d buy you a beer (I am flying in tomorrow).

Not watching Star Wars. Never had an interest in it, much to my dad’s dismay.

Thankfully work’s been hiring people like crazy so we’ll have like 3x the normal amount of people to help clean. Still, I think almost every showing is sold out the entire weekend...
In St. Louis, and underaged, sadly.

I’ll be in the basement trying to buy online tickets for the Hateful 8 Roadshow.

I’ll be on Oppo.
Mainly because I’m waiting until Tuesday to see it with my 68 year old dad. He took me to Jedi when I was young and we saw all the prequels in the theaters. Seems only fitting.

On a plane.
I’m a Trekkie.

Home. I don’t care about Star Wars :)

What makes me laugh more is the fact you’re not lying.

I never joke about my work, 007.

Stopping at a movie theater on my way home from school to watch it. Before I see my family. Gotta have those priorities straight.

I’ve mentioned the full-size Dalek on 12” bicycle tires, haven’t I? It’s in dire need of repair, as I had to make the neck rings on a tight schedule with builder’s foam, the chest section panels need rework in how they open, and the dome (which was rubbish) got crushed on the road, so that needs a wholesale replacement. I also never built the plunger and whisk/laser. Still, I *do* have a classic series Dalek.

Also in line, rocking a Star Wars t-shirt and my stormtrooper helmet. Possibly playing with my BB-8.

I’m left with picturing an acrylic tube with some half tennis balls down the front and side with some bike wheels bolted on and your head sticking out the top.
I’m not wrong am I?

It’s actually quite a bit advanced from that. One can get completely accurate exterior dimensions - the panels sizing is 100% accurate, all set to a wooden frame and joints cleaned up, with the sizing and spacing of all the hemispheres correct. Some fit issues in the shoulder section, but that will be put right eventually. It’s a Shawcraft Mk. III style, currently in the color set from Genesis of the Daleks.

Mine is fancier than the original BBC props in having a seat within and opening front, not to mention the pedal drive and suspension - which is head and shoulders better than the original props, they being open to the bottom, on casters, and pushed around by a dwarf.

I hate Star Wars, so I'll be going about my day/evening as usual.

Also, my friend has all the bits to build a ring modulator for Dalek voice, somewhere. He got all that sometime before moving, so no telling where the bits actually are, unfortunately.

I will be playing cards with my girlfriend I think in our basement suite. Probably cribbage.

I know I know, I was just trying to prod the beast. A friend of mine has built one for himself too, and while it looks great, it’s also never finished. Where’s your looky-out-window located?
![]() 12/16/2015 at 13:13 |

Standard location - no window as such, but clear mesh in the neck.
