1. I love that they used a Mercury (yes I know you’re not surprised this is #1)
2. Where’s pricing info? I may have to convert the Montego to manual for this kit lol
3. Nevermind there’s an auto option. I wonder if it supports column shift....

WHOA. Just ran an autotempted, er, tempest search fo 80-86 Capri within 400 miles on the Craig, and NONE came up. What. Somebody does have one in WV for sale on eBay for $5500, so there’s that. And a mad person on
AutoTrader
.

Took Ford long enough to join Chevys E-Rod crate motors. Only 3-4 years behind. Though this goes well with the new law letting kit cars be built by the manufacturers because they will have to meet current emissions.

Then there’s
this
.

i bet they will be around the price range of Chevys E-Rod kits to be competative

I’d love to do this to the Fairlane, but I think I’d like to do an Ecoboost even more.

I never had any intention of ever removing my 302 from my car. But this would tempt me.
5.0 for 5.0 ..... right? Fair’s fair haha

Holy shit on the turbo car. I’ve never really been into the turbo 4’s but DAMN. Umm...that’s a buy it now, not an auction. And if you pay him 2200 he throws in a shit load of parts.
the guy with that white one on AutoTrader has been pushing that car for a long time, I’ve seen it on Michigan’s CL too
they’re really cool cars, and not many of them around anymore.

Its a tough decision to pull a #s matching motor. I toyed with doing the ls swap in my 68 and adding a nice suspension, but ive come to conclusion if I want that Ill buy another Camaro.

I really wish I had $2k of go-crazy money lying around. Because that turbo car? Everything is right. Everything. And if it blows up? Coyote swap or 5.0 or get another 2.3 engine and
do it ageeen.

YUP.
Man that’s cheaper than the Montego was (which was only 2500).
Damn I wish I had 2 grand right now too

I posted it to Oppo just now to see if it functions as schmuck bait appropriately.
![]() 12/11/2015 at 09:59 |

Yeah I think the only way I’d pull it is if the block cracked or something. Even if it blew I’d probably rebuild it (with a bore) so something would have to be catastrophic with the block.

Schmuck bait?
You calling me a Schmuck?!
![]() 12/11/2015 at 10:21 |

I’m also calling me a schmuck. It’s all egalitarian and shit.

As long as it’s fair....
