This picture of the interior is really tiny. Can you live with such a tiny interior?
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
I got nothing.

It’s a 30-year-old rotary. Think long and hard about the long and hard service requirements.

you’ve come to the wrong place to have anyone talk you out of doing something stupid along the lines of cars

Personally, I’d get a 944/924S or a Miata. RX-7s can become very high mantainence and the only real benefit is telling people you have a rotary.

My RX7 was my second-favorite car, and probably always will be. Loved it to death. Do it.

Devil appears on your shoulder: “C’mon, that’s it, buy it! Yeah, put in that extra 500 bucks if you have to”.
Angel appears on your other shoulder: “Yeah, go ahead, you gotta have a stock RX-7 turbo!”

Is this your only form of transportation? I’d say if you already have a daily, then go for it! You will learn a whole lot about repairing/maintaining cars if you aren’t already familiar and have some fun driving along the way.

Yup yup yup. Turbo FC RX-7 is best RX-7. With the caveats voiced by the others here.

OK, well, you did ask.
An old piece of advice is “never buy a old turbo”.
You could also say, “never buy an old rotary engine with an old turbo”.
If you are going to rely on this car as a DD, prepare excuses for being late for everything.
But my god double DIN cassette deck with EQ. So 80’s.

Rotaries aren’t that big of a deal if you know what you are doing, plus they are waaaay cheaper to maintain than a 944.

Boost in -> Apex seals out
Need to redline the SHIT out of it every other drive to keep the internals fully lubricated or pre-mix oil into your gasoline
Wouldn’t pay more than 6.5K for it

I chuckled at this.

This is the car you bid on when you really want a Supra, isn’t it?

about 10 min left
come on do it!

Oh my. Unlike many car guys, my (serious) car-want list is pretty short (but then, I treat this list as “I will own this car before I die” type thing, so I have to be a bit realistic), and an RX-7 (any gen, because they are all pretty badass) is on that list.
I’d buy that in a heartbeat if I wasn’t broke like everyone else.

whatever you do, buy this registered runner for 1500: https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/533590…

I found some of these around my town for like 2000 dollars, I WAS SO TEMPTED. I say do it, and then swap in some crappy engine like a 1.9L Ford Inline 4 and go to meets. This is the true purpose of this car.
